We have recently sent out advertising posters for our new and upcoming business. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated - positive or not. We understand there is a Motorcyle Service in your area, but this opportunity would be unique with the service it can provide. As it is not a common project, many people do not understand how this venture can and will work to provide an excellent service to those who need motorcycle repair or restoration but we can explain and expand those details if we have the feedback to answer to.
Please feel free to forward any comments to us and we will answer any queries without delay.
Many thanks,

- Xonnext: For people who want to be found... -- Cees Geuze, 12:23:29 04/04/09 Sat
When I retired from the working class, my wife gave me a beautiful Suzuki Intruder VL1500. And after not having ride a bike for over 30 years, I'm back on track with my old love...
At that time I also wanted to give a great party and invite my friends and relatives from the past. But unfortunately I was unable to find a lot of people.
So I decided to develop a non-commercial web site www.xonnext.com. No site with all kinds of regulations, payments, friends, carriers or chats.
And not only for one group of people (school, military, bikers, etc.), but a simple Address book for everyone who wants to be found or wants to find other people.
To make my site world wide known, I want to ask you to put a link on your web site to Xonnext. My hope is that bikers all over the world will help me to make the site better known by joining Xonnext. If they enter the name of their bike or club in the field Group, all members can be presented in one click.
Have fun and ride safely.

- Bad Ass rings -- Matt Hill (Real Cool), 23:47:25 02/03/09 Tue
Hey Guys,
My name is Matt Hill and I'm the custom designs expert for Big Joe's Biker Rings. As you probably guessed we design and manufacture BIG-HEAVY-SOLID rings made by bikers for bikers. We have already made rings for the U.S. MPs, semi-pro football teams, Marantha Church and one of the largest bike clubs in the world as well as others all with 100% satisfaction.
Throughout history brotherhoods have shown their camaraderie by wearing identifying insignias, the Medusa in ancient Greece, the Aegis of the praetorian Guard, the sheild and cross of the Crusaders, the skull and cross bones of the Caribbean Pirates. Every secret society has their symbols and many wear a ring identifying them to their brothers.
That's where we come in, our professional wax carvers can create a ring just for your organization, I'll work with you every step of the way to make certain that the end product is exactly what you want. All you need to do is give us the specifics or better yet a photo or scan of your clubs logo, the dimensions and approximate weight and in a week or so we will present you with with photos of the carved wax model for your approval. Upon your approval a single master ring will be cast in Silver and from this master ring a single rubber mold will be made, the master and the mold are 100% yours, they will never be used for any other purpose than to make rings for YOU.
Using the rubber mold we create individual waxes for each ring you order, we size in the wax so there is never a seam to give out, using the lost wax method we create the rings to your specifications in bronze, silver or gold and in any size you need.
$100(US) gets thing started, after your approval of the wax model we will ask for another $150 to create the master and the mold, the cost of individual rings will vary according to weight and material. Feel free to ask me about prices you'll be surprised how competitive we are.
So that's my whole pitch in a nutshell, no fine print, no promises we can't keep, just a straight forward proposal, we can make custom rings for you and your club. We do pins and pendants too. Contact me anytime.
Keep the rubber down and the shiny side up.

- My new adventure motorcycle travel book is about to be released -- Sam Manicom, 06:02:04 10/17/08 Fri
Hi, my name is Sam Manicom and I'd like to let your members know about the launch of my new adventure motorcycle travel book - 'Distant Suns' . I hope you don’t mind me contacting you this way and that you aren’t going to send me straight to the spam bin.
As background, I’d planned a year riding through Africa but I had such a stunning time the trip turned into an eight year RTW trip covering 200,000 miles. My books came about because I'd been freelancing tales of the road in bike mags, and readers were writing in asking when I was going to do a book. At the time I'd no intention of doing one - I'd set off on the road for an adventure only. Yeah well, mad things kept on happening and to my amazement my first book, Into Africa, (A great adventure and a really enjoyable read – Johnnie Walker) sold really well. Nice to be able to share the fun!!! And also, it’s great to have the chance to be a bit of a bad influence : )
When that book was liked I wrote my second book, Under Asian Skies, (a unique and wonderful adventure – Ted Simon) and well, no one is throwing rotten tomatoes at me. So, I've written the third book.
The new book is called Distant Suns and takes you on a three year adventure through Southern Africa, South and Central America. This time I'm travelling with my partner who I met on the road in New Zealand - she rides her own bike and set off into Africa with even less experience than I had. With two of us at it, the adventures happened fast and furiously.
There's loads more info on the book website which is www.sam-manicom.com but as a taster, Birgit saves my life when my bike is about to blow up and I've not noticed! She rides her first dirt road ever, in Africa, in the dark. Not planned that way of course but, well, life happens eh. We get totally conned by an Argentinean wide boy in South Africa, we end up with a really surprising way of getting across the ocean from South Africa to South America, and then what was that about being medivac'd from the Chilean rain forest?
In Distant Suns you’ll find stunning roads and magnificent scenery. You’ll find disaster, escape from death (really) and tales of incredible luck – both good and bad. It’s life on the road and why we do it.
But the other reason I wanted to contact everyone was to let them know about the book launch. It's happening at 'Ace Cafe-London' on Saturday 1st November from 2-7pm. All sorts of stuff will be going on including Steve McGill. This man has magic fingers on an acoustic guitar and has a great voice. He's going to be playing sets from his brand new album as we go through the afternoon.
It'd be brilliant to see your club riders there.
The next book signings will be at CW Motorcycles in Dorchester on the 22nd November, the International Motorcycle Show at the NEC at the end of November - start of December, and then at the London and Scottish Motorcycle shows in the spring.
Club members can also get signed copies from the book website – they just need to ask.
Well, I hope you don't mind me contacting you like this, and can find a way to let your members know the news.
Thanks for your time.
Cheers,
Sam

The web site for the Essex based chapter of the Roadhogs Motorcycle Club is seeking link exchanges with biker related web sites.
You may not be aware that the more sites that link to yours, the higher ranking you get on search engines such as Google & Yahoo.
Please add "Roadhogs Motorcycle Club" to your site & link to www.roadhogs.co.uk
Or, go here http://www.roadhogs.co.uk/motorcycle_links.htm and add your link.
Once our link has been added to your site, I will add yours to www.arn1e.co.uk, possibly the largest bike club listing and motorcycle link site in the UK and ranked number one on Google & other search engines via many biker search terms.

- Hello -- Garry Stagg, 10:07:41 09/13/07 Thu
Hi
My name’s Garry and I ride a BMW K1 (well somebody has to . . .) It’s pretty damn’ good actually.
I work at Knockhill Racing Circuit and cover a lot of miles every year riding to work, visiting Bike Dealers, going to the TT and generally having a good time on two wheels. Strangely, the one thing I have never done (yet) is ride the track.
Because my job involves Events and Communications, I’m usually working at weekends, so the one thing I don’t get to do is go to Rallies, and I do miss that. Still, maybe next year . . .
Being an old fart, I can remember those halcyon days of the 70s when we went on ride-outs to race meetings at venues like Silloth, East Fortune and (of course) Knockhill, as well as to scrambles, Moto-X and Trials. Some of us were race enthusiasts, and some of us went along for the ride, the chance to look at loads of other people’s bikes, and to sit in the sun (it was always shining in those days, honest) talking bikes and bulls**t and, oh yeah, watching a race or two.
I know we cannot (and should not) live in the past, but I’d like to see if we can revive some of that action. Looking round the various Scottish Club web sites, I can see there are still plenty of bikers out there, with the same ideals and feelings, but you don’t often come to Club Race meetings. Why not? I think Knockhill’s got a lot to offer that maybe you don’t know about. More importantly, I’d really appreciate your input as to what Knockhill needs to do to make itself a better venue for bikers. I’ve got some tickets for the Jock Taylor Trophy meeting on 30th September, which I’d like to give away, so please get in touch. I’ll send tickets out to people with good ideas and constructive criticisms. Numbers are limited, so get emailing to garrys@knockhill.co.uk. An added bonus is that triple BSB champ Niall Mackenzie is coming out of retirement to race a Yamaha R6 in the Supersport 600 races.
I’d also like to spend some time this winter visiting clubs. I’ll be on the bike, and the only thing that’ll stop me is snow and ice (I’m getting too old to slide off in the dark!) So I hope you’ll be ok with a baldy man on a strange-looking bike who’s a bit obsessive about two-wheeled stuff . . .
Ride safe
Garry Stagg

- New Adventure Motorcycle Travel Book -- Sam Manicom, 02:56:55 08/16/07 Thu
Hi,
Apologies for contacting you like this but I wanted to let you know that ‘Under Asian Skies’, my new adventure motorcycle travel book, is due to be released soon.
CW Motorcycles in Dorchester will be hosting the launch on the 3rd November 2007.
Ted Simon says Under Asian Skies is 'A unique and wonderful adventure.'
If there is any way you could let your members know the news, we would be very grateful.
Thank you for your time.
All the best,
Sam
Background:
A year of dramatic adventure evolved into an eight year, 200,000 mile journey around the world. Sam’s first motorcycle adventure travel book ‘Into Africa’ received high acclaim from reviewers and has sold all over the world.
Novice biker Sam Manicom left his job and sold his house to ride his bike the length of Africa. But once the travel bug bit, he couldn’t stop. Under Asian Skies is the sequel to his first book Into Africa, and is similarly packed with adventure. Sam narrowly escapes a serious wipe-out in the vast Australian Outback, falls critically ill in Thailand and is rescued by a prostitute, gets arrested in Madras, dodges the manic traffic of India’s Grand Trunk Road and rides sheet ice on the road home through Turkey.
To make ends meet, he works as a fruit picker in Australia. He meets hippies, aborigines and escapees from the law, gets involved with smugglers and falls in love.
What shines through is his sheer joy of being on the road, and the pure adrenaline buzz that each day can bring. Every day holds an adventure and once again, those adventures demand that Sam’s Guardian Angel is on hand to work overtime. Just one man, a motorcycle and a dream being lived – every day.
Why does Sam get arrested this time? How many of the dreaded lurgies can you catch? What happens when a solo adventurer decides to take a pillion on board? How is a trip like this funded? What’s ‘Full Moon Fever’? Is Asia really mystical? How does a biker deal with the poverty? Is smuggling really a good idea? What kit worked the best? Who else is out on the road? What was that about romance? And what was that about two wheels being the best possible way to see the world?
"Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and celebrate the journey." - Fitzhugh Mullan
Release Date: November 2007. £12.99
34 Colour photographs, and line drawings throughout.
To be available from www.sam-manicom.com

- Pressure Reliving Gel Pads -- Lynne Timm, 03:21:02 07/28/06 Fri
Dear Sir/Madam,
Please forgive this intrusion however another bike club recently advised us that our newly developed gel bike pad would be of great interest to many motorbike clubs within the UK consequently we are writing to you to bring this to your attention.
We are primarily a medical company with 20 years pressure care experience supplying goods to the disabled fraternity. It was following a request from a neighbour to supply him with something which would assist with pressure relief during a European tour on his bike that we developed a small seat to help. Since then we have received an overwhelming response and so we are now trying to spread the word further. We are currently selling these items on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=009&item=190013299733&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1)
alternatively please see below our full details
LOVE YOUR BIKE BUT
WANT MORE COMFORT?
PERFECT FOR THOSE LONG RUNS TO HELP YOU
GET TO THAT DESTINATION FRESH AND
READY TO GO!! SITS EASILY ON THE SEAT
AND VERY EASILY TRANSPORTABLE!
Lifetime gel guarantee. Will not freeze, melt,
harden, crack or leak. Non toxic.
* It redistributes weight over a larger surface area.
* Particularly effective in a fixed seating position
* Reduces high pressure points or "Hot Spots"
* Dissipates weight contentrated on hip joints
* Increases blood flow previously restricted by
compression of muscle.
size available:
325mm x 180mm x 8mm £29.99 plus vat and post
(a small stock of thicker, unsealed white pads are
available for fitting inside the seat -
325mm x 180mm x 18mm. These are not recommended for
exterior use)
Available from a medical company with 20 years pressure sore experience so purchase with confidence
This pad is not supplied with a cover or straps. The outer film covering the polyurethane gel is non slip consequently motorbike riders can sit directly onto the pad and obtain the benefits of the pressure relieving gel when seated for long periods. We have sold many of these items to people who either wish to have these gels installed inside their seats or simply place them on top. They can be cut to any size however we recommend they are sealed after with tape or cling film.

- Bog Standard -- Katie, 08:27:58 07/12/05 Tue
Hello,
Bikers, your language needs you!
We are trying to find out the origins of the phrase "bog-standard"
It's now a commonly used phrase, but may have originated in biker circles, possibly from "box-standard" i.e. "straight out of the box" or "unmodified".
To explain, we are producing a major television series in conjunction with the BBC and the Oxford English Dictionary on the English language, and we need your help to rewrite the dictionary.
At present the first evidence the OED has for "bog-standard" is from 1983 and relates to computers, but we think the term was around before this. Do you agree? Have you got any biking memorabilia to prove the computer bods didn't invent it? Or is there another explanation?
We would really like to talk to anyone who had a Box Standard bike back in the day or anyone who has any leads on where this phrase comes from.
Can you help or do you know of just the right person for us to talk to?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Katie

- Royal Mail honours British Bikes! -- Ian Billings, 11:39:25 07/06/05 Wed
I often find that Royal Mail has worked for months on new stamp issues but that enthusiasts only find out after the event. I am writing to you now to tell you about the stamps to be issued on 19 July celebrating some of the best of British Motorcycles.
As stamp dealers and producers of limited edition collectables we will also be remembering an anniversary that Royal Mail has missed, namely the centenary of Velocette. You can see the stamps and our commemorative envelopes (first day covers) at http://www.norvic-philatelics.co.uk/2005/biker.htm
The stamps will be on sale at all UK post offices, and the postcards and presentation packs will be sold at most post offices. But if you want first day covers with any of the special motorcycle postmarks shown on our webpage you can rely on us as a specialist supplier.
Although we will produce quantities of covers for stock, special requests can only be guaranteed if they are ordered by 17 July. So if you are interested please contact us as soon as possible: and please tell your friends!
This is a one-time mailing for information.

- Biker only B&B in the heart of the german Rhineland, -- Andre, 05:08:02 07/15/04 Thu
We run a Biker only B&B and are situated a couple of minutes off the most beautiful part of the Rhine in Germany. The roads here a simply a must for bikers.
We take no passing trade and have a reservation only policy for touring bikers and clubs. In this way we can give our best attention to our guests.
We would be very grateful if you could draw attention of our existence to the members of your club. Perhaps, by mentioning us in your club magazine, or putting us on the end of your agenda at the next club meeting.
Members can also visit us on our webside: www.german-rhineland.com
and get some idea of what we do here.
In the meanwhile, thanking you in advance for your attention.
Yours sincerely,
Andre
