AND TO ANSWER PAR#3: The way to "Cure that little problem" is to have a six-way 'Hook-up' with the more prolific poster's & come up with some ideas.
One idea is to INTEREST A TV STATION HISTORY/ DISCOVERY CHANNEL (OR SIMILAR) WITH A GOOD STORY LINE THAT HAS A TRUTH IN FACT" BUT COMES ACROSS AS A MOVIE PLOT. I WAS TRYING TO "SELL" THAT WHEN I THOUGHT THERE WAS A PROJECTION CO. GONNA FILM THE (FAILED) GET-TOGETHER IN THE SPRING OF '04.
There is no doubt in my mind that a 1, or 1 1/2hr TRUE DOCUMENTARY that comes across as a "JOHN WYANE" WESTERN WOULD BE A BIG HIT. The secret is knowing a "SCREEN WRITER TYPE" TO PUT IT TOGETHER. (DIALOG--SCENERY--ETC ETC) THE PROPS--wagons--horses--open country etc would not be too hard to assemble. Actors not a problem enough of our TH'ING fraternity have the experience for that. More than one movie on the TV NITE SHOWS HAS BEEN PUT TOGETHER BY AMATEURS. AND GOT SPONSERS TO AIR IT. EVEN MADE THEMSELVES
SOME EXTRA MONEY DOING IT.
OUR HOPEFULLY SURMOUNTABLE PROBLEM, MAY NOT REALLY BE AN OBSTACLE AT ALL.
Not being SMART-ALECKY or EGOTISTICAL BUT MY BOOK COULD EASILY BE CONVERTED INTO A SCRIPT TYPE SCENARIO. OR--COULD IT BE MARKETED TO A MOVIE COMPANY????It has all the credentials---buried treasure---pirates---old west characters (sour dough miners)put a few indians in there--famous living (at the time) personages--Thos Jefferson--Jean Lafittre--Andy Jackson--Battle of New Orleans---TAMING OF THE WILD WEST ETC ETC ETC. Would it be possible to get enough TH'ERS or readers of the forum to donate funds in return for shares from any profits earned??? & MAKE OUR OWN MOVIE??????
I have tossed this around in my mind for over a year---BUT, I don't have the moxie to implment it by myself.
