Have you read Peter Viemeister's excellent book: The Beale Treasure NEW History of a Mystery? If you don't have it, get a copy! The publisher's address is: Hamilton's, PO Box 932, Bedford, VA 24523. The book has 3 conclusions: 1- it was buried and later recovered; 2- it was a hoax to draw patrons to a dying hotel business; 3- the treasure is still there but the topography of the area has changed over the years, so your chances of finding it- even with accurate info- would be almsot futile!
