I am in a quandary and require your feedback.
The problem is this, the forum name, as you know, is "Treasure Hunter's Forum"
I had intended from the outset not to place my own stamp on this forum because I had absolutely no intention of moderating it or in any way influencing the content, but recently I have felt that the current name has an air of arrogance about it, suggesting that it is THE Treasure Hunter's Forum.
That was not my intention!
So... I was thinking of changing it to "Rockhound's Treasure Hunting Forum."
I know how that sounds but bear with me...
I started this forum with a certain detachment but now I am happy to say it feels more like the formation of a community and one in which I'd like to assert my presence in some way, albeit one of casual observer with little of consequence to add beyond enthusiasm.
However, you can trust that I only wish to do that with absolutely no authority beyond the removal of spam and inappropriate postings as indicated or requested by regular visitors!
Adding my name obviously gives me a sense of ownership but I reiterate, I have absolutely no intention of running the forum to my own views or ideals.
As promised it would still be a freely run forum based entirely on the majority view.
ie, If anybody has any problem with posted entries, then I'll deal with them according to the opinion of the majority.
I simply wanted to ask your opinion on the name change and I would like honest answers as well as alternatives if you have them.
Please let me know what you think and remember it's completely up to you!
If you like the status quo then it'll stay as it is.
As I said at the outset, this is your forum and that's how it'll remain, regardless.
Additionally, if any of you are of an artistic bent, I would welcome any banners you might like to submit for display at the top of the page.
Perhaps I should make it a competition with the winners entry being adopted as the official banner.
What do you think?
