Subject: we cannot forget

. their story was written upon the ancient tombstones, to stand, silent and watchful, for an eternity.. the stones themselves are worn and covered with moss, splashed with blood and stinking of death and decay.. their story was one obscured by time and place, the very mist seeming to disguise great demons from the past lurking around every corner.. there were two tombstones, each massive chuncks of granite, carved from the mountains themselves.. and upon them was written the story of two different places, two different times.. and yet, they were so closely intertwined, though perhaps they did not know, that they were put to rest within but a few feet of each other

. i know. i remember.

. one of the headstones was surrounded in a bed of long-dead roses, though the redolence of their decay was still present, preserved in the ethereal graveyard.. the other was surrounded by clumps of deadly nightshade, still very much alive and thriving from the death and destruction that surrounded this place.. the latter was the grave of the seductive Martyr, while the other was the grave of Venus, the sublime ruler, perished in her quest to end corruption and hurt

we cannot forget the past
