I'll dye my petticoats, I'll dye them red

and around the world I'll beg my bread

the girl started suddenly, her emereld eyes slitted as the glanced slyly to either side. the dock was, as of yet, still clear. with a small smile, she pressed her weight into her hands as so she was able to lift herself up to her feet once again. her gaze swung back and forth over the dock as if to be completely sure that it was empty of any latenighters who had happened out of town. she stepped lightly a few steps toward the long boat, her back arched once again as if to convince any onlongers that she had overlooked that she were going about business as usual. she approached the boat with a sly grin before carefully climbing down the ladder to step into the boat. it took her a moment to gain her sea legs, having only been on a boat once or twice in her lifetime. "Oh, this ought to be a laugh." her tones, usually husky, held a brighter thought still alto tone to them as she murmured under her breath. she snorted as she glanced back and forth for some means of getting the boat to move. her eyes lighted over the oars stashed beneath a seat and she grabbed one in each hand. great. oars, boat...boat still tied to the dock. she rolled her eyes and set the oars down, balancing them over the seat as she moved to untie the boat from the dock. she sat upon the seat, locking the oars into place comfortably. a heavy, contented sigh swept out of her lungs as her hands grasped the oars as if her life depended upon the two of them. maybe it did. glancing about once again, to get her bearings and be sure no one was trying to climb into the boat with her. her gaze swept back to the ship, making some promise to herself in her mind that it would be easy and she would make it there with no worries.

an hour later, she'd finally made it to the ship. sweat had long ago beaded over her skin and fell to dampen the few clothes that she wore. she had never gotten this much of a work out even in the bed or striding the streets of tortuga. she searched the side of the Black Pearl for the ladder that had to be there so she could board. finally she came upon the rope ladder that had been swung over the side for other pirates when the arrived. her green eyes glittered in grim delight as she solemnly and quietly tied the long boat to its mother ship on a random board. good enough, any other pirates would think one of their drunken comrades had gone a bit sloppy. heh, pirates. she rolled her eyes as she grabbed the rough rope of the ladder rungs, her hands still shaking from the physical activity only moments before. with a soft, silent sigh, she began to heft herself up the side of the ship. her tightly tied corset caused her breathing to be nearly twice as labored as she moved, her tattered and damp skirts clinging to the ladder as it was tossed side to side in the night winds.

upon reaching the top, she carefully raised herself up to search for any sign of the guards. seeing the light in the cabin, she smiled triumphantly and huffed herself over the side. now, some place to hide...
