Subject: Updated Info regarding Quota Hunt Permits

We have some updated information to share regarding quota hunt permits.

As you know, from our last email message we had planned to discontinue mailing quota hunt permits this year due to budget reductions. However, we have learned that our budget for this fiscal year will not be reduced as much as we had expected. Therefore, budget will be available to cover the cost mailing quota hunt permits this year. In light of this, we are now planning to go forward with mailing quota permits for this hunting season. This will not be reflected on the printed Quota Hunt Worksheets, as they have already been printed, but the documents online will be updated to reflect this.

Please note, however, that we expect budgets to be very strained next year, and we may not have the funds to mail quota permits for the 2010-2011 hunting season. We plan to continue looking for cost cutting alternatives to mailing permits while still providing good customer service. We are researching a process that would allow people to print permits directly from the internet or get them by visiting their local hunting license sales vendor such as a sporting goods store or local bait and tackle store. Any such changes would be implemented next year for the 2010-2011 hunting season.

We greatly appreciate your understanding as we work through these difficult economic times and we appreciate your support for our efforts to reduce costs and issue quota permits as efficiently as possible.
