Subject: Rimfire for Turkey Hunting.

The commissioners at the June 23-24th commission meeting voted to allow staff to proceed with advertising rule changes to stop Turkey hunting with rifles only on public land. They obviously feel private land hunters are less likely to have an accident than public land hunters. This only affects approximately 10% of the Spring Turkey hunters out there.

If you would like to continue to hunt turkey in Florida on a WMA with a rim fire rifle you need to show up and speak up at the next FWC meeting. If you don't you will be using shotgun only and shot smaller than #2's.

If the 10% of the hunting community that is affected showed up we could still make the decision for ourselves what we wanted to harvest turkeys with like private land hunters are allowed to.
