It was a slow year for me. I killed a 6pt. there at Bull Creek and a doe. I personally know of about 10 of those bucks killed that were 6-9. I would say maybe 20 were 6 or better, 40 were 3-5, and 20 were spikes. I would have to look at the harvest records to know for sure. I think passed on about 12-15 legal deer last season.

In 2005 I probably passed on 3 dozen legal deer. I scout hard and hunt hard, but I am an amateur compared to some of the guys out there.

Back to the orignal post reply. I'm not sure what an 8AM shooter is. A road hunter? Those guys can be useful. Sometimes they push the deer right to me.

I am not in favor of a 14" rule, not in Florida. Most Florida bucks don't get much width, but get high tines. I also don't think any WMA that has dog hunting should have anything more than 5" spike rules. It's too hard to judge a buck being chased by a pack of Walkers.
