Unfortunately very few cities in Florida have the problems of over population like our nother cousins. It would be nice. I've spoken to a gentlemen in VA. that formed a nuisance animal group that consisted of Hunter Safety trained Bow Hunters. When people would call about problem deer eating all the shrubs in their yards. They'd have a drawing amongst their members to see who got to go out and take care of the situation. They had to be insured of course, but they had a lot of extra hunting going on.

I think our issues aren't going to be over population of the deer, but possibly proximity issues. All though there are a few State Parks that need to have their herds thinned, but getting DEP to wake up and smell the roses is a whole 'nother story. They'd rather hire sharp shooters for parks rather that let hunters take are of the problem.

I vote we go after The Refuge (old Ocklawaha muck farms) (SJRWMD) off 314A in Ocala, Chernoybal Forest (SJRWMD) off of 464C in Ocklawaha, Sunny Hill Farm (SJRWMD) off Hwy 42 at the Ocklawaha River, Brickyard Slough and adjoining WMD land (SJRWMD) in Osteen. Marshall Swamp (DEP) off Midway Rd. Ocala or off Sharpes Ferry Rd., Ocala. the Whole Greenway (DEP) From Ocala to Inglis along 484.
