Only one thing was on her mind: Jumps. She looked about for the jumps, but to the human eye she just looked alert and eager to go. Her ears pricked forward and nothing about her demenor grouchy, she stands and waits for someone to lead her to those jumps. She followed behind Taylor with a springy walk, her head held high and ears alert and forward. She halted just fine for Taylor, and stood like an angel while she tightened the girth. As Taylor took even more time, Chantilly was indeed getting bored. She stomped a few times and gave a small, slight snort. She feels the weight in the saddle shift as she pulls the stirrups down and once again stands. She was a little surprised by Taylor getting on from the ground but merely looked around her side at Taylor. Chantilly waits for a moment then decides to walk by herself. If Taylor bought her, she'd have to get this jumper mentality out of her. She get's a little antsy like this but once you tell her you want her to be calm and slow, she realises she is not doing the jumpers. She goes into her hunter mode and is pleasant and soft. Just as long as she can jump. Chantilly responds instantly to the bit, dropping her head and getting round. She starts to use her hind end and her walk gets more powerful, less hollow and springy. Taylor can feel just how much muscle she has as Chantilly walks, most of her power from behind. The mare had always been ridden gently so she would respond instantly to the slightest touch of the leg or hand. From doing the open equitation with Mr. Cohen's daughter, she knew half halts and stride adjustment, so she did it all perfectly for Taylor. With the touch of her heels, Chantilly goes into a quick working trot. She was still framed up so she wasn't hollow, just quick, responding to Taylor's heels. She pushes off from her hind end, her shoulders popping as she throws her toes. So she has the ability for dressage. Taylor would just have to learn about Chantilly and how to ride her. Mr. Cohen had been watching the whole time. He is dissappointed when he sees Chantilly right away going into such a vigorous trot. He knew any sensable rider wouldn't ask that first without warmup. Mr. Cohen leans on the fence, studying Taylor's movements to see how she reacts to Chantilly. If he sensed at all that she was getting to angry or aggressive, he would immediatly tell Taylor she could not have any of his horses. But he had a feeling this would go well.
