“These pictures are absolutely amazing,” Belinda gushed as she sat in the lodge across from Michael and Nikita. Nikita was on top of Michael’s lap as she was casually sitting as if she didn’t care if anyone saw her like this. Both had a great golden tan that came from their adventures in Peru and both just seemed at one with themselves and the world.
“We got a few good ones… but it is hard to take a bad picture there,” Nikita easily spoke as she lifted her head to look at the lush scenery picture that Belinda was looking at. She had spent most of this day, the second day since they returned; sharing their pictures of the places they visited. Michael was always there with Nikita and it was casual and carefree.
“Nikita really worked hard at those pictures. You should see the laptop. It is filled with pictures that she didn’t print out. Most of them are really good too,” Michael stated as he stroked Nikita’s back gently.
Michael hoped that for the rest of the day he could be left out of the workings of the camp. He just wanted a few more hours to spend with Nikita. It was like the world had changed but it hadn’t.
They had stopped over to look at the work being down at the new house and Nikita even stopped at the other house to see if she could stand being inside of it – but it just didn’t feel right. They would be spending at least another month to six weeks in that small apartment above Walter’s garage. The garage was actually filled with wedding presents that they didn’t ask for from people who thought they knew the couple. Lots of gifts were from famous celebrities that Nikita may have passed on a red carpet at some point. It was something that they were going to have to go thru soon.
The door opened and Michael closed his eyes. He feared that it was someone coming in about the camp. He had already had to beg Oak to leave things until tomorrow, but it was clear that he was upset with the new leader of the stable and things weren’t going as he would like them. Michael found it hard not to listen to Oak right away as Oak didn’t complain often, but he still begged for the time. He needed to get used to things again. He needed to ease back into the swing of things.
“Popsicle!” Mick exclaimed and Nikita jerked her head up. She had seen Mick yesterday when they first got back and she was glad that he hadn’t talked any business at all. “Have you talked to Michelle yet, Popsicle? I mean… she has a great idea…”
“Idea?” Nikita nervously questioned as she shook her head. “I’m not ready to start writing and I know that there is a thread out there on the internet that wants me to start an erotica storyline about a couple that is completely devoted to each other… but I don’t want to write that type of stuff.”
“I would never turn down a new storyline like that, Popsicle… but this idea has you doing very little writing… maybe an introductory letter and maybe the final chapter… but it isn’t going to be those fantasy stories…” Mick explained as he sat down and sighed. “Look… you are looking at honeymoon pictures. Those would be perfect!”
“Perfect?” Michael questioned as he became on alert. Nikita looked at Michael and slipped off of his lap. She reached over and took the photo album out of Belinda’s hands and closed it. “These are for Michael and me, Mick.”
“I just want you to listen to my idea… you are making it much bigger than it needs to be,” Mick declared as he shook his head. Nikita rubbed her forehead. “First thing is first… you confirmed with the press that we are back and off of our honeymoon.”
“Of course!” Mick declared and he chuckled. “I can’t help it if the internet still has you two all over the world…. Which leads me too…”
The door closed and there was a groan that Nikita recognized to be Michelle. “Mick! I told you to wait!”
Mick winced and turned towards her with his shoulders already shrugging. “You know me by now… I got excited.”
“And we were supposed to not to talk about work until next week,” Michelle reprimanded Mick as she shook her head. “Please just forget what Mick started to try to explain… and I’m sure that it was missing a lot of details.”
“I think it is too late,” Michael dryly commented and Belinda stood up. “I’m going to excuse myself from this conversation…”
Michelle slapped Mick’s shoulder as she stopped and then sat down next to him. “You need to control your impulses, Mick.”
“It’s a great idea and I wanted to tell the happy newlyweds that they are causing couples to just get the fact that they love each other… the one couple emailed us to tell us that they got engaged while they were out being Michael and Nikita last week,” Mick gushed out and Nikita gasped with happiness.
Michael wasn’t sure what he thought about the game that their honeymoon had taken on. He was grateful as it allowed them the privacy that they wanted, but he was sure that it could have been given to them in a much different kind of manner too. Nikita found the whole game thing interesting and funny. It made her happy and Michael guessed that was all that mattered.
“I forwarded their email to us to your personal email, Nikita. It’s very beautiful and that is what brought on the thought of having those couples that we hired along with those who want to submit stories, write up about what it was like to be Michael and Nikita. Did they go to places they wouldn’t have gone to because they were portraying you? Did they realize something? Maybe write up features about where they went… and then maybe, just maybe, the last chapter can be a brief summary of where you truly went,” Michelle explained as she rubbed her hands together. It was clear that she wanted to have a better idea to present and that Mick had forced her to report without all of her thoughts collected.
Nikita looked at Michael with a smile on her face. “It is kind of what I wanted to find out myself… how all of those people felt…”
“It is,” Michael nodded his head up and down as he kissed Nikita’s forehead. He didn’t want to say it out loud, but it was a great idea. He even wondered about the motives of these people who they didn’t hire to be them.
“And it will make a boatload of money based off of all the internet madness that has been going on,” Mick declared and Nikita shook her head. “I don’t need the boatload of money…”
“Maybe the proceeds can go to a charity… “Michelle suggested and Nikita nodded her head. “Like one for the camp… for the girls who can’t come to camp…”
“I like that idea,” Michael nodded his head up and down. “And I’d like to help write our chapter of what we did on our honeymoon.”
“I wasn’t going to write it by myself,” Nikita declared with a giggle as she leaned into Michael.
It was work, but it surely wasn’t that bad of work.
But it was definitely bringing them back into the real world.
