“Mum… mum…” little Jessica spoke up on Nikita’s lap as she settled into the seat at the decorated table. Nikita sighed and looked down at her little daughter, now not so little at just a couple days shy of being three years old. Nikita stroked her daughter’s blonde hair back and sighed. “What is it, Jessica?”

“I dance,” Jessica declared as she pointed out to the dance floor where her older brothers, Marc, who was now eight, and the twins Seymour and Evan, who were six, were doing their impersonation of dancing. She even spotted Sabina, at 15, on the edge of the dance floor, thinking of dancing.

Nikita kissed Jessica’s head and smiled. She never thought she would have four more children with Michael when she had Sabina. Even after Marc arrived, she never thought that there would be more. She loved her boys and everyone was surprised when she had twins. Nikita had been stunned to find out she was pregnant with the baby that ended up being Jessica when she thought she was starting menopause.

Now they were at Adam’s wedding.

“Darling… Adam and Lisa are going to have their first dance in just moments… you can dance in a little bit,” Nikita kissed Jessica’s head again as she looked around the room that was filled with lots of people.

Nikita felt her heart twitch with happiness as she thought about her new daughter-in-law. How Adam and Lisa got to this point in their lives was twisted, but they had found each other after both grew up a lot.

Although Adam would never tell Nikita, she was positive that Cinda and him had taken a physical step in their relationship during their senior year, but as they approached college, both going in different directions with Cinda going all the way to the University of Miami, they agreed that they were better as friends.

It was after college graduation when Adam started to work in the video game industry that he caught up with Lisa and soon the two were in love. They were the perfect match for each other now that they both had matured into young adults.

Nikita just hoped that she didn’t become a grandmother too soon!

“Can I go to Grandpapter?” Jessica asked as she saw Walter calling her to his lap. Nikita smiled at the name that her youngest children had given Walter. Nikita released her daughter and watched her dash off to Walter’s arms and smiled. He hated the nickname at the beginning, but it soon grew on him when Marc had said the name over and over again.

Nikita rubbed her arms as she felt Michael come and settle in beside her. She leaned her head down on Michael’s shoulder and sighed in happiness.

It wasn’t all a way in the park. Although the PTSD didn’t rear its nasty head nearly as often, it did happen on occasions enough to remind those around her that Section One would never be fully gone from her head and theirs. The last one had happened because the teacher of the twins was new and Nikita heard that the teacher was named Suba. It was actually Mrs. Suba and she had no relation at all to the original Suba that Nikita thought about, but her mind didn’t let her think about that right away. In the end, Seymour and Evan loved Mrs. Suba as their teacher so far this year.

All of those thoughts brought Nikita to thinking about Sabina, her now about to blossom into a teenager, daughter. Sabina had recently declared after Nikita’s last PTSD flash that she was going to go to college and be the research to find the definitive way to end PTSD. Nikita learned not to doubt Sabina, who put her mind to things many years beyond what she should. She was a force to be wrecked with and if anything, raising Sabina made Nikita able to be a role model for her other children, who’s own intelligence probably would have overwhelmed Nikita had it not been for Sabina.

“You are thinking,” Michael stated as he took Nikita’s hand and kissed it tenderly. Nikita nodded her head as she saw Sabina on the other side of the room, talking to a teenage boy. Nikita swallowed hard. She wasn’t ready for that!

“Our lives… are changing again,” Nikita rasped and Michael kissed Nikita’s lips. “Isn’t it wonderful?”

Nikita smiled brightly and nodded her head up and down. “And we getting busy.”

“You are,” Michael pointed out as he thought about the big photography jobs that she had recently accepted, but nothing too close together. He liked that Nikita was so picky about what she personally did these days and it was for the best of the family.

The children also helped by making that have to happen.

“Did you talk to Adam about the other night?” Nikita inquired and Michael nodded his head up and down. “He is claiming that it wasn’t him.”

“But the Angel did that job,” Nikita pointed out and Michael shrugged his shoulders. “You know that our family has a way of twisting around who was responsible for things… if we can’t figure it out, no one can figure it out.”

Nikita shook her head slightly. “She had almost gone away.”

“Well, the public thinks that this is someone picking up the mantel of the Angel… and it was necessary to come back when it did…” Michael reminded his wife as he kissed her hand again. “Its fine… and I have a feeling it was Davenport.”

“It wasn’t Mick,” Nikita retorted with a snort and Michael laughed. Mick rarely ventured into physical action that was involved with the persona of the Angel, but there was this one time about three months ago, when he was freaking out about becoming a first time father, when he got into trouble but luckily Michael had followed him out.

“The one was Lisa,” Michael whispered as he looked at his wife. Nikita frowned but didn’t comment. She couldn’t get people to stop. Nikita had but others carried on righting the wrongs and although Nikita didn’t like it, she completely understood it.

Nikita fell quiet as she just watched everyone around them. Later she would dance with Michael but for now, she just liked to watch.

Then Adam walked towards them and extended his hand to Nikita. “Will you dance with me in the Mother and Son dance?”

Nikita gasped and Michael was grinning. He knew of Adam’s plan and Nikita nodded her head.

Michael watched as his wife allowed Adam to escort her to the dance floor. He was going to go out and take Nikita out of his son’s arms soon, but Michael was happy. He looked at all of his children and stopped when he saw Walter with Jessica. He was quickly reminded of a special piece of mail that he got his morning and he knew that it was Walter who sent it.

The original one that had brought the family together was easy to remember.

Five years and four months ago, your daughter was born.

Today’s message had no need to guess what was going on and the message was simple.

Thank you for making things right and including me.
