Michael rubbed at Nikita’s shoulders as she stopped pacing in their room. “We don’t have to do this today.”

Nikita blinked her eyes and swallowed hard. “I can’t keep on thinking about how to do this for another day.”

Knowing that right now, Nikita just needed his physical presence, he pulled her into his arms and held her. Nikita rubbed at his arms and finally exhaled. “I think… hopefully… this will be good.”

Michael leaned slightly to look at Nikita’s face. His arched eyebrow made Nikita groan and she shook her head. She did think on some level this was good. “We’ll never tell our children all about Section… but to pretend that it is a void that never happened is a huge lie. I don’t want to lie.”

“Children?” Michael asked and Nikita sighed. “Adam knows because he lived it… Sabina knows... that’s where she was born… any child that we may have in the future, may not live in a world that has Section, but will be a child that was somehow impacted by Section.”

Michael kissed Nikita’s forehead tenderly as he couldn’t agree more with Nikita’s words, but until he heard them from Nikita, he couldn’t have told her those things. Yet, Michael wasn’t sure if Nikita was ready for this.

“The basics is all that she needs right now,” Michael reminded and Nikita nodded her head up and down.

Together, they slowly moved to Sabina’s room where she had been since this morning after she had been released from the hospital. She was doing so much better and was probably going to require Reagan to do some sort of teaching tomorrow because she was already going stir crazy. Nikita looked at the door and tapped on it before opening.

Sabina smiled at her parents and tilted her head to the side. “I didn’t feel like sleeping Mom and Dad.”

“That’s ok,” Nikita spoke as she entered and continued to hold onto Michael’s hand as he gently pushed the door closed although they were alone in the house. “We need to talk with you, Sabina.”

She groaned and shook her head. “Adam told you about how I was going to help Sherry pass the test… but it didn’t actually happen and I got sick so she had the take the test without me… so I really didn’t do anything wrong.”

Confused and stunned for a moment, Nikita shook her head as Michael picked up on what Sabina had said. “Adam didn’t tell us about Sherry… and we’ll have to talk about what you were planning to do at another time… because while you were only trying to help your friend out, it really wasn’t going to help her if she didn’t learn the material herself.”

Sabina looked at her parents and Nikita knew that Sabina knew that they realized that she knew something about Section. “Ah… I’m sorry dad… I just… wanted to help… so… do you want to play Candyland?”

Nikita sat on the foot of the bed as Michael rounded the foot to the other side. He reached across the bed and took Nikita’s hand again. “We know that you have heard and found out some things about Section.”

“What?” Sabina shook her head slightly. “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“Section One, Sabina,” Michael spoke firmly as he didn’t see the sense of beating around the bush. He wasn’t sure how well Nikita was going to hold up thru all of this. “That’s where I met your mother… and that was one of the very few good things that happened there.”

Sabina shrugged her shoulders and Nikita just tilted her head to look at her daughter’s eyes. Sabina flinched when she looked into her mother’s eyes and she looked down to her feet. “I didn’t mean to hear about it… and I didn’t think I’d find anything about it… but I found files… and I couldn’t stop reading…”

“And you can’t tell anyone about what you have seen and heard, Sabina. It was a place that was meant to help the world, but for the most part the people who got your father and myself into it… they ran it in a bad way… and the world can’t handle what happened there,” Nikita explained and Sabina blinked while looking up at her mother. “But you ran it.”

Nikita nodded her head. “And I ended it.”

“Your mother wasn’t one of the people that did the bad things to good people, Sabina. We were prisoners there… we did what we had to do in order to live… and order to love each other,” Michael explained as he looked at Nikita. He knew that there were plenty of days that both of them didn’t believe what he was saying, but for Sabina, this was what they had to believe for now. “And the truth isn’t always found in those words that you may have read.”

“So you aren’t the Angel either?” Sabina inquired and Nikita leaned her head back and looked at the ceiling. Damn.

Nikita looked back at Sabina. “The reason why you… were given up… was because I had to keep you safe. No one knew that I was pregnant with you when I was in Section. I would have been killed. You would have been killed. So I hid it… and I got Walter to get you out… and there was nothing that I could do… but once I got rid of Section… I had to do something… try to make up for the things that I felt so immensely sick about doing… primarily about all the things that I couldn’t do for you…”

Michael rubbed at Nikita’s hand as he saw the tears on Nikita’s face and he saw Sabina trembling. “Your mother did something so strong… I don’t think I could have done what she did… and it was the only thing she could do to protect you.”

Sabina numbly nodded her head up and down. “And being the Angel… allowed you to find me?”

“No,” Nikita swung her head. “Being found by your father… he found me… like how we found you… He found me when I was only a shell… where all I cared about was doing the unsung right thing for people who couldn’t get the right thing done thru the law… and yes, I sometimes I am the Angel when the authorities’ hands are so tied that they need it…”

“The Angel is a lot of us, Sabina… and we can’t tell others about those thing either… because we are able to do those acts because of the things that we learned while in Section… and we have to keep it with us,” Michael chimed in and Nikita rubbed wet cheeks against her shoulder. “We don’t like to talk about it… thinking about those things… almost makes me… stop breathing… and that’s the reason why I have those Post Traumatic Stress Disorder flashes… it traumatized me and it might forever do that to me from time to time.”

Sabina leaned forward and placed her hand on top of her dad’s that was squeezing Nikita’s. “But I don’t want you to be traumatized forever about it mom. I’ll never talk about it.”

Nikita took her other hand and stroked Sabina’s cheek. “It would be nice to never talk about it… and we’ll never tell you all about it… but there may be times that I have to talk about it… and there are worries about there that there are some that know of what Section was… so it will forever be something on my mind…”

Sabina looked afraid but Nikita pressed a kiss to her forehead. “But you make it easier not to think about it…. And seeing you happy… and growing… and our family being a family… makes the time that I have to spend thinking about those things… less and less.”

Sabina moved and didn’t care about herself when she hugged her mom. “I like that I make you better, mom… and you make me better too!”
