Michael turned his head as Nikita was back in the house. She walked over and smiled as she saw Jason in the kitchen. “I need you to get access to Ben’s computer.”

“The brother?” Jason inquired and Nikita nodded her head as she looked at Michael. “They used Ben.”

Michael tilted his head. “What? That doesn’t make sense.”

“It makes sense if you start thinking about putting a mission together to take the daughter… as if we were in Section,” Nikita announced as she turned a chair around and sat down. “I asked Lisa… she never told people about her every day activities… because her husband had done undercover work she had been careful. She even learned how to have GPS disabled from all of her cars… and she just changed the car again…”

“And this gets us to Ben, how?”

“Who else in that house would know the daily schedule? Who else would say something about the new car? Who else would know the way that Lisa drove home each day?” Nikita questioned as she leaned forward. “Ben would know all of that stuff… and he is a young kid... doesn’t know the ins and outs of knowing if someone is lying to you online…”

“She is onto something,” Jason nodded his head as he typed quickly. “He was part of an online community that was to match up mentors to children who had experienced the lost of a parent…”

Michael looked at Jason and Nikita snapped her fingers. “I need the print out of all the transcripts… and find out who the mentor is…”

“Nikita, this isn’t going to get us to Veronica,” Michael spoke and Nikita shook her head. “It is… we’ll use this path back to the men…”

“Back to them? We can’t use Ben like that,” Michael metered his response. Nikita walked over and looked over Jason’s shoulder. She blinked and Jason shrugged his shoulder. “Teenage shorthand?”

“Nikita… listen to me… this is more than just Ben,” Michael spoke again as he knew that Nikita was somewhere else. “These men really are going to make it difficult. They want to get their men out… and they aren’t just going to go away silently into jail.”

“Meaning?” Nikita looked at Michael.

“We should talk to Tom.”

“No,” Nikita shook her head from side to side. “We need to tie this all up in the next 24 hours, Michael. Lisa needs her daughter back and Veronica needs her mother.”

“They have ties into a couple of my open cases, Kita,” Michael firmly spoke as he watched Nikita go back to the chair that she had moved around. He almost wanted to say that she was manic. However, he knew that this was her way of trying to sort things through in her head. But she needed to get all of the facts that he had been able to get in the past couple hours while she was gone. “There are ties to multiple factions…”

“Which means that just getting Veronica back isn’t enough,” Nikita announced as she sat down and tapped her hands on the edge of the chair. “Jason… how often does Ben communicate?”

“Practically any time that he isn’t in school,” Jason replied back as he was moving as quickly as he could. “I’m printing out to the den.”

Nikita rubbed her head and looked at Michael. “We got to get communications going. If not, they are going to know that something is up.”

“We can’t use Ben, Kita,” Michael spoke and Nikita looked at him. Michael felt his stomach drop as he saw that look in Nikita’s eyes. “No… No Kita… you can’t do this.”

“That wasn’t what I was thinking,” Nikita replied back as she blinked her eyes. “I don’t talk like a boy Ben’s age…. It would be a dead giveaway.”

Michael felt his stomach completely disappear in dread. “No…”

“We have to think like if we were doing this… and we have to counter. They would expect an adult taking over the job of Ben… not a boy,” Nikita replied as she looked at Michael. “Adam wouldn’t be in danger, Michael.”

“I’d have him running through about ten different protection levels,” Jason chimed up as he looked up from the computer. “We need someone who can translate this talk, Michael. It isn’t going to be me either.”

Michael stood up and shook his head. “We need to call Tom, Kita. This is too big.”

“He’ll make us leave,” Nikita announced as her voice cracked. “We are going to get Adam a dog for Christmas… and we aren’t going to leave. So we leave Tom out of this. We can handle this. I can handle this if you want out.”

Michael moved to look Nikita directly in the eyes. “You aren’t kicking me out of this Kita.”

“We need to move quickly. Tonight,” Nikita spoke and Michael stroked Nikita’s hair back. “We don’t have enough.”

“Then we get enough,” Nikita pulled her head away. “I’m wasting time…”

Michael watched as Nikita stormed out of the room. He suddenly felt that he had been out of Section too long. This was scary to be back here and he didn’t know what it was doing to Nikita, but he didn’t like it at all. Michael grabbed his cell phone and walked out of the room. He needed Davenport back here and he needed to let Mick know that something was going down.

In case Nikita couldn’t control everything that she thought she was going to control and they all had to get out of the area quickly.
