Nikita stood in the shadows as she studied the compound in front of her. Jason was giving out stats of the individuals in the house and the probably location of Veronica. Those details didn’t matter to Nikita. She knew that the communications around the compound had been hampered, except for the chat that the head of this operations thought he was having with Ben.

Not holding the gun, she moved forward as Michael indicated that he had taken out the sniper. He didn’t kill him, but Michael had made sure that for the next several hours the sniper wouldn’t be tagging one of them.

What Nikita did pull out of her jacket was another syringe as she could see her target in front of her. The guards were pretty good but they had no idea what they were dealing with. If anything, they were expecting the police.

Nikita and Michael weren’t the police.

Nikita had him half to the ground before he even knew that he was under attack. Nikita took the gun away and disabled it and tossed the bullets far away. “Guard down.”

“There are four more on the outside perimeter,” Jason reported and Nikita turned her head. There was a car passing and Nikita squatted down. “Walter… what was that activity on the street.”

“Sudan… continued down the street,” Walter reported and Nikita slowly stood up.

“Nikita, just continue in to the house. I have two more of the guards heading towards the main communication unit…” Michael reported in and Nikita moved again. Her eyes were scanning the area she moved. This was the easy part of the mission and she was soon on the patio and again in the shadows.

There was more of a struggle for Michael this time and Nikita waited for him to report in that the other two men were down. That meant that there were only two men left on the ground and so far they hadn’t seen any of the other men down.

“Ah… we have an anomaly,” Jason stammered and Nikita pressed herself against the wall as one of the guards that should have been further away from the house was closer to her than he should have been. She tensed as she squatted deeper into the shadows.

“I think we have them holding someone else in the house as a hostage,” Jason reported as Nikita pulled out a string from the jacket and used it against the door to gain entry. “I have access.”

“One guard left on the outside,” Michael reported as Nikita slipped inside the house. Nikita looked around the wall and she paused. “Jason?”

“They are holding someone else hostage,” Jason hissed again. “Hold positions.”

“Can’t,” Nikita reported as she inched forward. “They have communications.”

“I’m almost in,” Michael answered as Nikita waited and swallowed.

“Ah… something is wrong… that Sudan just drove pass again,” Walter chimed in as Nikita turned and got the guard that was in the hallway and she pulled the unit from his ear. From the reports, they weren’t onto Michael and Nikita’s presence, but they did realize the Sudan was circling. Nikita turned and dropped the device into a glass of water and continued down the hallway.

“I’m in,” Michael reported. “Kita… you should be going to disable the electricity.”

“Change of plans,” Nikita spoke as she stepped into a closet as someone was heading down the hallway. She watched as they passed.

“Kita, report in,” Michael hissed and Nikita stood there as she swallowed. “Jason, do you have an id on the other prisoner?”

“Nikita… we need the electricity out,” Michael directed but Nikita closed the door as another person walked in the hallway. She leaned there and still did not pull out the gun. “I have to get Veronica.”

“I have only heat signature on the other prisoner… opposite end of the house… the girl is still in the East side room on the second floor… the other one looks to be in the cellar,” Jason continued to report as quickly as he could. He swore and Nikita lifted her head. “They stopped talking to Ben.”

“They know that we are here,” Michael indicated as Nikita opened the door and saw Michael. She blinked her eyes and they started down the next hallway together.

“I think they must be holding some sort of gang member… I have multiple cars on the street…” Walter spoke as Nikita and Michael reached the stairs. Nikita walked with Michael and she could feel that he had his gun out. Nikita reached to the top and Michael pulled to a stop. He turned and pulled Nikita to look at him. “You knew…”

“Michael… Veronica?”

“You knew that there was another hostage,” Michael accused and Nikita turned her head and looked at the door. She moved forward and pushed into the door. She was caught off guard and she felt the pain in her shoulder. She turned to attack the man and slam him down. But he still had the attack going and he flipped her down. He tried to raise the gun at her when Michael entered the room and started to handle the other man who was there. Nikita slammed her hand into his face and the gun went flying in the air.

All hell was breaking loose on the outside. Nikita tossed the unit out of her ear as Walter and Jason were screaming as she was attempting to get this man off of her. She snapped back up to her feet and kicked at him as he attempted to rush at her. He turned and Nikita felt the sharp pain her shoulder again and that was when she realized he had put a knife into her, for the second time.

Nikita didn’t hesitate. This time she caught the man around the neck and she snapped. Nikita trembled slightly as the dead body slipped down out of her hands. She turned to find Michael standing there, having disposed of the other guard.

Veronica was crying, but Michael and Nikita stared at each other.

“You gave them the hostage,” Michael accused as he stood there. He had ripped out his unit also. Nikita reached down and retrieved both of their units. She extended her hand. “It protects us.”
