Michael stepped out of Adam’s room, comforted that Adam had gone to sleep also. He checked in on Nikita once more even before thinking of descending downstairs. He saw Walter and Ellie in the kitchen. “I thought you had patients waiting for you.”

“I cancelled the appointments or got the other doctor in the practice to cover the appointments,” Ellie looked towards Michael and held her hands over the cup that she had on the table. “Is Nikita sleeping?”

“As is Adam,” Michael nodded his head as he moved to the stove and frowned as there was no coffee. He pulled out the coffee grinds and blinked as he realized that there was someone missing from the room. “Where is Davenport?”

“I sent him for some Ginger ale,” Walter stated as he filled up the coffee pot with water for Michael. “He doesn’t quite get along with the doctor.”

Michael took the information in Walter’s whisper and figured that Ellie would agree to the statement even if he had said it out loud. “Adam doesn’t like Ginger ale.”

“He’ll need fluids,” Ellie commented as she leaned back in the chair. “I’ve seen this flu for a couple weeks now. It will probably be a couple days before he really starts feeling better.”

“I have a stock the Gatorade that Adam will drink,” Michael revealed after he started the coffee. He turned to look at Ellie. “About the x-ray.”

“There are a couple things about that,” Walter started and Michael lifted his hand. “I need to talk about the x-ray first, Walter.”

Ellie almost smirked as Walter pouted. She cleared her throat, “I have a friend who works at an imaging lab who is willing to run the x-rays for us tonight after the lab has closed down. We can have the originals and the plates that the x-rays are taken on.”

“That really isn’t necessary,” Michael shook his head. “Nikita just doesn’t like hospitals.”

“Still, it might make Davenport feel more comfortable,” Ellie bluntly stated and Michael had to wonder what words had been exchanged between Dr. Hlad and Davenport.

“I’m sure that we could have gone to the clinic that Rhoda works at,” Michael looked at Walter. Walter looked back to Ellie. She smirked. “They have an x-ray that is operating… but not as good as the one that we can get at this lab. And we are going to need it.”

“Need it?” Michael inquired and Walter extended his hand. “I need the keys to your lab.”

“No,” Michael shook his head from side to side before going to the cupboard and pulling out the mug. He turned to see Walter just standing there with his hand still out. “You aren’t getting access to my lab.”

“I could go back to my house… but then I have to do so much more work. Just make this easy and let me in your lab,” Walter frowned as he didn’t relent. Michael stared at him. “And why would you need access to my lab?”

“Jason found the formula for B4910,” Walter gloated but Michael was confused. “So?”

“It’s the drug that Section created that would heal all of the broken bones that you crazy cold operatives would get and we had to heal up quickly. It’s a shame that most of the stuff that Section did have that could have done some good in the world is gone… and it’s going to be harder to make because I’m going to have to modify a few things,” Walter explained as he continued to stand there, waiting. “If she is having PTSD, a broken collar bone is going to be a really bad combination.”

“She seems better,” Michael sighed heavily before fishing into his pockets and handing the keys over to Walter. “You can’t get into anything else that is in that lab, Walter.”

“I’m not going to look at the results of the test on the baby stuff…” Walter promised as he shoved his hands into his pockets, along with the keys.

“You failed to tell Michael why the x-ray is so important in relationship to B4910,” Ellie looked at Walter as she pushed her cup away. Walter shifted weight and looked wearily over at Michael. “Ah… you’ve had B4910.”

“They have given it to me,” Michael nodded his head and Walter rubbed his face. “And you find this out after you have been asleep, right?”

Michael paled slightly. “Yes.”

“Well, that’s because B4910 has to be injected into the core of the broken bone… both ends,” Walter slowly spoke as he closed his eyes and then opened one at a time as he looked at Michael. He didn’t look so upset. Michael swallowed and nodded his head. “So they would have us sedated.”

“Yeah,” Walter nodded his head. “And it was always a short term acting sedation… enough to get the injections in… and get you guys back up. We can’t find that formula and we can’t wait because B4910 is only effective in the first 24-hours from injury.”

Michael winced and then nodded his head. “Well… that will be interesting.”

“Yeah,” Walter agreed as he couldn’t imagine the type of pain a person could be in when those injections were happening. “So… I’m going to go and get started…”

Michael blinked his eyes and nodded his head as he turned to find that the coffee was ready. He poured a cup and sat across from Ellie. “Thank you.”

“You shouldn’t be thanking me,” Ellie shook her head. “I was helpless there, Michael.”

“You came,” Michael explained as he then took a sip of the coffee. He then looked at Ellie and knew. “You want me to tell Rhoda a bit more about our background.”

“It would help to have another pair of hands for this medicine, Michael,” Ellie pointed out and Michael leaned forward. He just wanted to worry about the things that he may have control of right now, and there weren’t many of them. Knowing that hiding away from things wasn’t the right thing to do; Michael pushed away from the table and looked at Ellie. “She is dating Nat.”

“But he knows that there is some sort of connection to some sort of military due to Tom’s handling of things in the hospital,” Ellie declared and Michael tilted his head to the side. He hadn’t told Ellie those things and he didn’t think that Nikita had. Ellie shrugged her shoulders. “Tom mentioned some of how he thought of me… and Davenport confirmed the rest before he stormed out of here.”

“Nat is a wildcard,” Michael warned as he shook his head slightly. “He is an innocent, Ellie.”

“We all are innocents,” Ellie looked at Michael. She stood up and went to the sink with her cup. “You should check on Nikita and Adam. They both need you right now. Staying down here isn’t wise.”

“Nikita is doing better now, Ellie,” Michael whispered and she looked at him. “I pray that you are right.”

“Operatives don’t pray,” Michael coldly spoke and Ellie raised an eyebrow. “I’m a doctor.”
