“This is our house,” Michael spoke to Mick as he opened the door and Nikita rushed into the house. Michael exhaled as he did not rush after her for the moment. He turned to look at Mick staring at the house. “I’m not going to bite.”

Mick tilted his head to the side. “You’d do something worse.”

“You did what you had to do, Mick. I don’t find fault in that,” Michael reached out and pulled Mick into the house by the shoulder. “We’ll talk.”

“Talk?” Mick stammered as he rubbed his head. “I must have hit my head harder than I thought I did on the ground.”

“I have a doctor who can come and look you over,” Michael offered and Mick started to whistle the theme to The Twilight Zone as he looked around the house. “Nikita lives here?”

“It’s too masculine,” Michael stated with a nod of his head. “She moved in recently.”

“You make it sound like she is a house guest or temporary,” Mick judged and Michael shook his head from side to side. “Absolutely not temporary. But new.”

“And there is no more Section?” Mick questioned again and Michael nodded his head up and down again. He could have been rich if he got a dollar for each time that Mick asked that question between when Nikita saw him and now. “Let’s go see what Nikita is doing.”

Michael guided Mick down the hallway and they saw Nikita at the refrigerator with a couple ice bags in her hands. She jumped as she felt Michael standing there and she turned around. With her lips pressed tightly together, Nikita extended her hand out to Mick and offered up one ice bag.

“I think we all could use something to drink… How about I start some tea?” Michael suggested as he moved to the stove as Mick took the ice and placed it in the general area of his head, not sure why, but feeling as if he had too. Nikita sat down at the table and placed it against her shoulder. Michael turned as he noticed the location of the ice and shook his head. “Kita… I hope that we don’t have to go thru that again.”

Nikita shook her head back and forth and signaled with her fingers that she was ok.

“What is going on here? And why aren’t you talking, Popsicle? You always were a chatty little birdie… well, maybe not such a little birdie… I mean, you are skinny and all fine… but you are a tall and leggy birdie…” Mick started to rattle on and Michael placed the kettle on the stove. He slowly turned to see Mick staring at him. “I’m in a dream…”

“This isn’t a dream,” Michael answered as he walked over and rubbed at Nikita’s shoulders. He leaned down and whispered something into Nikita’s ear. Mick frowned and shifted the ice on his head. “This all just happened out of nowhere… I was in a museum…”

“How did you know that we were there?” Michael inquired as he sat next to Nikita. Mick raised his hands up in the air. “I didn’t know that you were there… I was there for another reason… sort of… well, I was looking for Popsicle’s daughter… well, I mean your daughter…. I mean both of yours daughter…”

Nikita shifted and stood up. She retrieved the camera from the counter as Michael just stared at Mick. He continued to sputter about how he was looking at a girl who could have been their daughter but then he realized that the age group was too old to be their daughter. Nikita turned on the camera and went through the pictures. “What is wrong with you, Popsicle? Can’t you see that I’m trying to explain that I didn’t do anything here…”

Nikita enlarged the picture and turned it towards Michael. It showed Mick turning his head and then she moved to the next picture that showed the mix of shock, horror and some relief when he saw Nikita. She had to have snapped the picture the same moment that she had called out to Mick. It had happened quickly.

“What were you doing in this city after London?” Michael inquired as he handed the camera back to Nikita. He looked at Mick and then back to Nikita. “Are you ok, Kita?”

“Yeah,” Nikita nodded her head up and down.

Mick rubbed his forehead. “I didn’t sign up for any of this… I mean, I helped you with the other children, Nikita… I knew that they weren’t yours… and I almost didn’t believe that the baby was yours until I saw how badly Walter was shaking and I could tell in his eyes… but I didn’t know that Michael was the father… and I don’t know how you could have just let her go… and I’ve been searching for her and I can’t find her because of what you made me do!”

“I should have never put you in that position,” Nikita rasped as she looked up at Mick and grabbed Michael’s hand. Mick watched the silent exchange and he dumped the ice on the table. “I’m confused…”

“Michael? Sugar?” Walter called out as he walked into the house. “Davenport called me…”

Mick turned and saw Walter. Then he fainted.

“That took long enough,” Nikita quipped as she stood up while not letting go of Michael’s hand. Michael stood and turned Nikita towards him. She touched his face. “We need to walk…. Now.”
