“What in my directions of no more medication for Nikita did you not understand?” Ellie challenged Michael as she stared at him. He didn’t even flinch and he simply stood there, stoically and not answering.

Ellie looked at Nikita as she stood off to the side with her head slightly down. It looked like Nikita was either embarrassed by what had happened or she was carrying some sort of shame about it. Ellie tilted her head and then she noticed the bruise on Michael’s neck. “What’s that bruise?”

“Nothing,” Michael finally spoke but Nikita lifted her head. She rubbed her hands and Ellie narrowed her eyes. Something needed closer attention and Ellie moved towards Nikita. It was as she was moving closer to Nikita that she pushed her hands behind her back. “Nikita…”

“Leave her alone. You are upset with me,” Michael’s voice grew in intensity and volume. Ellie tilted her head and looked at Nikita. “Let me see your hands.”

“You weren’t there, Ellie,” Michael spoke firmly as Nikita squirmed and looked at Michael. He sighed and slightly nodded his head to let Nikita know that it was ok. She put her hands out and that was when Ellie saw the bruises on Nikita’s knuckles. She looked back at Michael’s neck. “This wasn’t sparring.”

“Things were out of control.”

“That happens with PTSD.”

“You weren’t there,” Michael fought back as he stepped forward and placed himself in-between Nikita and Ellie. “I did what I had to do.”

“Because you didn’t call me,” Ellie shook her head. “You should have consulted with me about what was best and what Nikita should have for this… if she should have been asleep that long.”

“I gave her something that I’ve had to use on her before. Cold operatives are trained and given certain resources and I knew how Nikita would react to this combination,” Michael stood firmly there, not backing down. He had to do this for Nikita’s own well being in the past. It was how he was able to get Nikita back to Section after she had almost turned into an assassin and he had to use it while he was breaking the manipulation of Nikita’s emotions that Madeline had done. Nikita had to do it to him once too, so it wasn’t unfamiliar territory for either of them.

“But Davenport shouldn’t have been the one telling me.”

“He shouldn’t have told you at all,” Michael stood there as he looked at Ellie. “This is between Nikita and me.”

“She hurt you.”

“I have more than the bruise on my neck and I wanted her to hit me. That’s how I dragged her home,” Michael didn’t even seem to look guilty about what had happened. Ellie turned away and tossed her hands in the air. “We aren’t in Section any longer.”

“But our minds still are!” Michael shouted loudly as he stepped forward. “To act like Section doesn’t still impact our lives right now is irresponsible and probably led to what happened. It happened to us and it is going to be part of our lives… even yours, forever.”

“How does this help Nikita?” Ellie pointed towards Nikita. Nikita jerked her head up and cleared her throat. “I haven’t had any flashes, Ellie.”

“They aren’t gone,” Ellie shook her head sadly and Nikita turned her head away. Those were the words that Nikita was going to say. “Do you even want my help?”

The door opened and Davenport walked in. “Stop it.”

Ellie turned to look at Davenport. She had wanted to talk to Michael and Nikita about what had happened, but she had allowed her personal anger get in the way. Not the way that the doctor liked to behave.

“Are you ok?” Nikita asked from the wall. Ellie turned and stepped forward. Davenport was clutching his head as he groaned. “I have a headache from all of you shouting.”

“Come, sit down,” Ellie spoke as she moved Davenport to the closest chair. She bent down on her knees as she tried to look at Davenport’s face, but he kept it covered as he pushed his fingers against his temples even more. “I told you that you needed a break.”

“I can’t,” Davenport rasped and Michael moved to Nikita’s side. He wrapped his arms around Nikita and looked at Davenport. “I never said you had to help us all the time. You are just always there.”

“You are too,” Davenport turned his head slightly but he didn’t have the strength to look up at Michael.

“It’s my house,” Michael replied as he held Nikita in his arms.

“You need to take a break,” Ellie declared as she sat down cross legged in front of Davenport and squeezed his knees. “Seriously.”

Davenport lifted his head and he cleared his throat. “I live there too… in that house.”

“Since when?” Ellie inquired and then she lifted her hands. “It doesn’t matter… you are officially out of it for three days.”

“I’m not going to the hospital and I’m not going to a hotel,” Davenport replied and Ellie sighed. “I have a spare room.”
