“Adam… do you have that flow chart that you created of the acts that the angel had done?” Michael asked the next night when no one had been able to find Nikita yet. Michael squatted down next to his son’s desk as he flipped off of MySpace and opened up the file. He saw that Adam had changed it to bear Nikita’s name. Michael sighed and rubbed his forehead. “It’s pretty neat, Dad…. I haven’t found a pattern and whatever she manages to do always seems to take down more than just the original people caught up in the mess.”

Michael had realized that fact once he started to read up more on the cases and once he had raided the police files a bit more. Right now, he hated the fact that there was no pattern. He hoped that there was. He had hoped to find that there was something that caused Nikita to disappear and to become the angel, but he hadn’t been able to find any.

“Is this all? Michael asked as he looked at the screen. Adam smirked. “Ah… these are the official ones…”

Michael cleared his throat and Adam shrugged his shoulders. “I promised Jason that I wouldn’t break into your computer again after I got in the first time… I know that he got me in a trap… so I used that time he gave me into your computer to find out which ones you could be sure were absolutely the work of Nikita based off of her fingerprints.”

“And the rest?” Michael snapped as he couldn’t believe what his son had managed to do. Yet again. The fact that Jason had known and allowed Adam to get away with it bothered Michael, but he did not have the time for that right now. Something told him that this time, Nikita was away from the convent because of him.

Adam typed quickly and pulled up all of the possible cases that related to the angel. The screen almost looked like it was a dart board. It was more like, where had the angel not done a good deed.

“I didn’t look to see if there were the same patterns… I could do that…” Adam offered. Michael placed a paper down. “Send it to Jason.”

“This isn’t his address,” Adam commented and Michael arched an eyebrow. “Send it to that address now.”

Adam sighed and sent the email off. He turned and looked at his father. “I thought Nikita was at the convent?”

“She left yesterday, vanished in front of Davenport’s own eyes…”

“What if she left?” Adam interrupted and Michael placed a hand on Adam’s shoulder. Nikita running was a risk that they knew about but Michael did not think that Nikita was in the shape to run. “Jason is watching airports, train stations… rental cars… he is watching, Adam.”

Adam sighed and leaned back. “I don’t like this spy stuff anymore.”

“That’s good. I don’t like it either,” Michael stood up and kissed Adam’s head. “Let me worry about Nikita. That’s my job, Adam.”

Adam nodded his head slightly up and down. Michael didn’t stay long and walked down to his lab to pull up his computer while establishing the conference call. “You made my son think that your computer was my computer… and allowed him access to information I didn’t want him to have access too.”

“It was better to let him have some success than to keep him all the way out,” Jason explained his decision. Michael didn’t like it but Michael pulled up his own computer and then opened up the information that Adam and sent. “I don’t like lying to my son.”

“Misrepresentation is not necessarily lying,” Jason retorted as there was a beep and Walter joined the conversation. Walter had finally hit the streets, trying to run across Nikita. Michael didn’t like it, but it was better than having Walter breathing over his neck.

“We need to expand the search…” Michael rubbed his neck. “I pushed her… Nikita was pushed into some sort of action and I don’t know what.”

“Maybe we should try to figure out who knows what happened to Section?” Walter suggested and Michael groaned. That wasn’t going to help him now. “Jason, that facial recognition software that you are using to keep tabs on the transportation hubs… we can use that in other places…”

“OF course… it runs fast… but I have not hits and it is even pretty good against people who are trying to use disguises and such,” Jason answered without giving Michael too much geek with the explanation.

“Expand it to all of the traffic cameras in the areas that the angel has assisted… get it on ATM machine cameras… any kind of cameras you can get into… Run it and find her,” Michael ordered as he sat back and looked at the mess of things that Nikita had been able to do to help out people. “Walter… I’m scared.”

“You had to reach out to her, Michael,” Walter gently responded. Michael chewed on his lip and rubbed his hands together. “She has been very lucky on all of these things that she has done… very lucky…”

“She was a damn good operative,” Walter huffed quickly to remind Michael of the fact that Nikita was trained to do all of the things that she had done.

“But even the best operatives get hurt… something goes wrong. There are too many successes here, Walter,” Michael declared as he felt sick to his stomach. “And I pushed her off her slight emotional balance that she had.”

“It’s going to work out…” Walter announced, but even his voice was faltering with the bravado that it normally had when saying that Nikita would be ok.

“I’m running the scans now on the historical data on the cameras and the live feeds… but it’s a crap load of footage and I could find out hours behind, Michael,” Jason chimed in and Michael hung up the phone. He couldn’t just sit there. He turned to the back corner of his lab and moved to the small locked box that he had in the closet. He pulled it out and pulled out the boots, the black pants, the black shirt, a hair tie and a .44 magnum.
