Nikita knew that she had to sleep, but she didn’t. Adam’s words were in her head and she paced about her room until everyone was asleep. She then made a decision and knew that she had to act upon it. She walked right out of her room.

And into Michael’s room.

“Michael,” Nikita spoke with a soft voice that there was no way that the sleeping man had heard it. But he had felt her presence even in his sleeping state. He turned onto his back as Nikita moved to the bed and sat down on the edge. She crossed her legs as she stared at his face and then she poked Michael on the chest with one finger. “Michael.”

Michael was straight up with a startle. He blinked his eyes at Nikita and shook it slightly. “Kita? Something wrong?”

“I need to talk,” Nikita announced as she sat there, looking at Michael. It didn’t feel like she was looking at him from Michael’s point of view. It almost felt as if she was staring through him. He shifted and leaned back against the headboard. “Ok, Kita. I’m here. Do you want to come along side me?”

“No,” Nikita answered when Michael had anticipated that she would shake her head in response. Michael didn’t know where this was coming from but he surely was not going to mention it.

“Adam said that you told him to just start talking about a problem… and that it helps,” Nikita stated as it was something simple to start with. She knew that look on Michael’s face. It was so slight, but it was clear that he was confused by what was going on with just the way that his eyes were slightly closed, but just by the tiniest bit. “So… I’m going to talk about things…”

“You don’t have to do this because Adam said that it would work… it might not be right for you,” Michael warned. Nikita shook her head slightly. “I have to do something.”

Those words were like music to Michael. He needed Nikita to try something and this was her decision right now. He nodded his head as he looked at Nikita. She rubbed her hands along her legs and just when Michael was sure that she was going to look away, she kept looking at him. “The other house is in Florida. It’s not in any of the major cities. You fly into Orlando and I just don’t think this is the time to take Adam… it’s a small town, about an hour away from Orlando… it’s called Dundee but the house is on the outskirts…but it may not look like a house as much as it looks like a business of sorts…”

Michael swallowed as he listened to Nikita’s long rambling sentence. It was strange, but it was what Nikita needed to do right now. Michael just knew that he had to keep his wits about him and not get frustrated by Nikita’s long speech.

“There is actually another town close by that is named Davenport but I didn’t want to be too close to that because there is sort of a connection just by the name Davenport. Not that I have any worries about anyone looking for me…” Nikita spoke and then she stopped. She reached out and touched her hand to Michael’s chest. She waited a long time and sighed. “We have to go there.”

Michael placed his hand on top of Nikita’s and waited to be sure that she wasn’t going to continue talking. “Why?”

Nikita tensed up and she looked like she was about to stop talking. But Nikita exhaled and looked directly at Michael’s eyes. “Maybe a way to find our daughter.”

Michael nodded his head slightly and patted Nikita’s hand. “We don’t need to do this now.”

“You deserve it… and I don’t think I will be able to live with myself right now unless… I’m trying,” Nikita rasped as she blinked back tears. “I have some DNA stuff.”

“What?”

“I kept the towels… the other things…” Nikita squirmed slightly as she stared at Michael. “I trained myself on the internet to be my own midwife. Walter was gone so I had to clean up… and I did that on purpose… because it was punishment to myself to go through that alone… but also because I could get the materials out… and over the years it securely went to location to location… but it has been in the house in Dundee since four months before Section…”

Michael took Nikita’s hand off of his chest and pulled her closer to him. “Kita… you are an amazing woman…”

“You can’t admire what I did, Michael,” Nikita commanded. Michael reached up and touched Nikita’s forehead and wiped the hair off of her forehead. “Kita… I would have never thought to do what you did… you thought of the day that you could look for her… and you have given yourself the opportunity to do that.”

Nikita swallowed hard as she looked at Michael. “Section ate me alive, Michael.”

“They tried too,” Michael whispered in response. “But we are both here, right now. On the outside.”

“I’m not here,” Nikita choked up and finally dropped her head. “I’m struggling so badly right now…”

“It’s the fight that matters,” Michael touched Nikita’s chin and used his palm to dry the tears. Nikita lifted her head on her own. Michael kissed her forehead again. “Fighting shows that you are trying. That matters so much.”

Nikita looked at Michael and then touched his chest again with her hand. “This is the easiest thing to talk about… out of all that happened after you were gone. And the end…”

Nikita turned her head away and then shook her head. “I have to do one thing at a time… and going to the house… showing you that place. Getting the materials… so we have to get the ability to fly from Tom.”

“You didn’t give yourself a way to contact the house?” Michael inquired and Nikita shook her head. “No. I have to physically go there. Security purposes… no one can hack something that isn’t on the grid. So we have to go.”

“I already contacted Tom,” Michael sighed.

“I know,” Nikita replied and Michael smirked. “Kita… I don’t want you to rush this.”

“I think it has already taken too long,” Nikita leaned her head back slightly. “And I do need you to come, Michael.”

“I wasn’t about to let you go alone,” Michael retorted as he used his strength to start to turn Nikita. She got the point and turned so that her back was now against the wall. Michael moved her closer to his body and gently squeezed her. He stopped and looked at Nikita. “You were done talking, right?”

“It’s a good starting amount,” Nikita nodded her head up and down. Michael mimicked Nikita’s movement and then Nikita’s head was on Michael’s shoulder. “I may never get through all of it, Michael.”

“Don’t worry about that now,” Michael whispered as he leaned his head down on top of Nikita’s. “But no matter how long it takes… I’ll be right beside you for the whole thing.”
