Subject: Drew Carey Mentioned In Sunday's New York Times Article>

Sunday's Arts And Leisure section of The New York Times has an article titled "Passing The Bra: The Search For A New Edna." It mentioned that the casting people for "Hairspray," the hit Broadway musical, thought of Drew as a possible replacement for Harvey Fierstein, who is leaving the show on May 2. Fierstein won a Tony Award for his performance as Edna Turblad in the play; the casting people were aware of the musical numbers Drew did on his ABC sitcom; however, the producers went with Michael McKean of "A Mighty Wind" fame as the new Edna. McKean appeared on the Cable Ace awards a number of years ago. Drew was the host. In the press release for the "Mighty Wind" premiere in Los Angeles last year,
Drew was listed as a guest. I wonder if he attended the event and spoke with Michael. I'm planning on going to New York to see "Hairspray." I hope that I get to meet Mr. McKean. If so, I want to ask him about the "Whose Line" references that were on "Primetime Glick." Michael's "Hairspray" engagement begins on May 4; it ends on October 3.
