Subject: Pamela's "brain"

I kinda wonder about that "brain" of Pamela's...

These white tigers have been hand-raised by man since birth, given food, water, shelter, love and attention all of their lives. Releasing a domesticated animal into the wild, even if it is a tiger, is tanamount to taking a rifle and shooting it in the head... only that would be a more merciful death.

If released into the wild, white tiger pelts would be the first goal of every poacher--we're talking big bucks, here. The tigers run the risk of being caught in crude traps and starving to death in the traps, or they could be hunted down and shot (possibly several times in an attempt to kill them). Plus these cats can't hunt for themselves! They haven't been trained. They risk starvation and serious injury that way because they wouldn't know what animals to hunt. Then there's the fact that other big cats, sensing the intrusion of these new animals in their territory (who probably have the scent of man on them), might attack and kill them. It's not all flowers and sunshine in the wild. Anyone who believes that has been watching too many Disney flicks.

The white tigers are a part of our world now. S&R's training can't be undone. The best thing that we can do for them is to take care of them in a zoo or habitat until the end of their lives. And let's face it, they're still living better than people do!
