Subject: A FAKE "semi-nude" photo is offensive, but it was okay to see the real thingon national TV?
In reply to: Agrees with 'Sick at what I saw' 's message, "Or, don't doctor photos of famous people to make them appear semi-nude." on 06/15/03 10:28am

What you went to was an error page that told you go "Go BACK" and linked you up with my index page. In order to see what you saw, you had to disregard those instructions and scroll down. Also, after each post on this board, I came back here and "cut and paste" each of the addresses into the address bar to check their accuracy, and they ALL link up to the GQ photos. So to get to the error page, you had to have typed in the wrong address.

And need I remind you that the REAL Ryan was REALLY naked on "The Drew Carey Show"? He showed his nude body to millions of people watching television, showed his full backside to 350 people in the studio during filming, and showed his full front to at least eleven other people on the set (actors playing the city council and his fellow performers). Plus he was stripping, grinding and dancing with his clothes in the process. Ryan showed more skin in that episode than that fake photo does--not to mention that you don't see anything below the hips on the (let me remind you again) FAKE photo, aside from a tuft of someone else's hair. Go to the beach this summer and I can guarantee that you'll see worse from guys in Speedos.

Doctored photos on the internet are strictly for laughs, which means that it's a JOKE. If you don't get it? Hey, that's not my problem.

But isn't it funny how something so minor as an obviously bogus photo gets people's feathers ruffled, while the real thing (broadcast to the world and repeated on syndication) gets no more than a laugh and a wink?
