Jean and I have learned first hand why they would dislike the flash. We vacation a lot in Colonial Williamsburg and many of the evening programs are lit by candle light only. They always ask that there be no photography then (especially flash) since it blinds the performers. One night some bright person decided to ignore the request and used a flash photo anyway. We all were seeing spots for the next several minutes. I can imagine that the same would happen at any of the shows.

Using the flash isn't even a consideration for us when we photograph at the shows. The only time we did was at the MIT show. We were sitting pretty far back (and this was one of the places where they could have cared less had I stripped naked, stood on the chair, and then took the pictures). The few that I did take with the flash on actually came out worse than the rest with no flash.

who bets the video would have a starting bid of way more than $5.00
