It's a pretty routine practice as far as I've seen for the writers to change lines as the taping goes on. What they do is tape a scene, and then the writers meet and if a line didn't get a laugh like they thought it should they'll rewrite it right then for the second take. They always shoot each scene twice and then do pickups if needed. Sometimes we get lucky and there are no changes so they shoot the scene twice and it's done fast. Sometimes the writer's meetings last forever, so it takes a long time to get through one scene.

That was the funniest part. A flower arranging bachelor party. Only on the Drew Carey Show.

One other spoiler that I forgot to mention, and I think most people know already, but this was Craig Ferguson's last episode. Drew announced that it would be his last at the end of the taping saying that Craig has a movie coming out this summer that he produced and acted in.
