Some of the information came from the liner notes of a Colonial Music CD that I have that that song is on (Colonial Fair by Dean Shostack and published by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation). 18th Century American History is a favorite pasttime of mine so this question just piqued my interest. And as far as any questions pertaining to 18th Century American History, The Colonial Williamsburg foundation is an absolute great source for information.
