Subject: William H. Doak sells farm in 1852

The subscriber wishes to sell the farm upon which he now resides, situated in Jefferson county, Ky., 12 1/2 miles east of Louisville, on the Louisville and Shelbyville turnpike road, one mile east of Middletown and 11 miles from Hobb's Depot, and containing 172 acres of good land; 130 acres cleared, and in a good state of cultivation, the residue is well timbered and all under good fence. The improvements are a large and comfortable dwelling, a first rate barn, ice house, negro houses, and all necessary out-buildings. There is an abundance of never failing water the entire year, and the neighborhood cannot be surpassed for health. Any person desiring to purchase a desirable farm would do well to call on the premises, and the undersigned will take pleasure in showing them the property.
June 9, 1842 (note - I think this is a typo, should have read 1852)
