How the heck could a beauty like this, MISS CALIFORNIA USA 2003 be beaten by Nicole O'Brian; Beth Hood- even eventual Miss USA, Susie Castillo?

Lovely, gracious, poised...

I don't have a clue how this beauty could have been left out as a semi-finalist. Hopefully she enters Miss World and wins. She is brilliant!

Candice is a beauty- enough said!

There are 50 confirmed delegates so far, representing the nations of the world to go on in Miss World 2003.

Next to the name of each delegate is an assigned popularity.
You can include your vote by doing the following. Characters in BOLD mean you can change that field.

EXAMPLE:
Say you want to vote for France, do the following in response:

FRANCE
Score: 8 score must be between 1 and 10, where 1= dislike and 10=adore

When all the scores are placed, I will tally a weekly populary results show!

You can vote ONCE for as many delegates as you like, but one vote per email ballot is required.

I found this interesting information on the internet. It is about the 2004 Miss USA Pageant location!

"NASHVILLE - The Miss USA Pageant is negotiating with Tennessee officials to bring its 2004 pageant to Nashville.

Pageant officials have been talking to the state for months, and they plan to visit Nashville in the next few weeks, said Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization.

David Bennett, executive director of the Tennessee Film Entertainment and Music Commission, said he has a "very good feeling" that Nashville will be able to attract the pageant.

"They have identified Nashville as a city that meets certain criteria - we have the venues to stage the performance; second, Nashville has a recognition factor around the world," Bennett said Monday.

Staging the pageant in Nashville would be perfect because many pageant fans are also country music fans, Shugart said. NBC, which will broadcast the pageant, also has indicated a preference for Nashville, she said.

"When you think of Nashville, you think of an entertainment city," Shugart said.

The contestants would be featured at attractions around the city, and there would be one segment devoted to showing off Nashville to 9 million to 12 million U.S. viewers. The show also is distributed to 60 countries, Bennett said.

The Miss Universe Organization, which is co-owned by NBC and Donald Trump, also hosts the Miss Teen USA Pageant and the Miss Universe Pageant.

The Miss USA Pageant costs nearly $1 million to stage, including site fees, hotel rooms, meals, transportation and security. Most of those costs can be defrayed by sponsorships, pageant organizers said

I watched the tapes of Miss World 1996-2002 and Miss Universe 1996-2003 and I must compliment Miss Universe on much more outstanding productions than Miss World.

Often, even the eventual winner in Miss Universe is better looking than the winner at Miss World.

That's just my analysis. Any thoughts?

Well done to the MUO on producing a brilliant Miss Teen USA Pageant last night. Congratz to the winner:

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - A self-described tomboy from Oregon was crowned Miss Teen USA 2003 Tuesday night.

Tami Nichole Farrell of Phoenix, Ore., who said her proudest moment was hitting a game-winning grand-slam while playing on her town's formerly all-boy baseball team, defeated 50 other contestants.

The first runner-up was Alicia Selby, Miss Tennessee.

Farrell, 18, won a year of rent-free living in New York City, a tiara valued at $17,500, and cash and other prizes.

She hopes to earn a college degree in liberal arts and pursue a career in acting and modeling.

Entrants from Oregon also won the pageant in 1988 and 1990. No other state has captured the title more than once.

The entrants competed in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview.

TOP5:
Jacqueline Bruno, Massachusetts;
Jacklyn Pezzotta, New Jersey;
Tami Nichole Farrell, Oregon;
Alicia Selby, Tennessee;
Alicia Jaros, Michigan

*** Congratz to one and all

Hi, I decided to share with you this! A nice Miss World review, from 1997 up till 2002. Enjoy

MISS WORLD 1997

The location is Seychelles and the winner India. I thought South Africa should have won, breaking the long trend of Miss SA runner-ups. But hey, you win some you lose some!

MISS WORLD 1998

Hated the winner. Isreal? What Israel? I much better preferred USA with her short hairdo or even Malaysia. Not Israel

MISS WORLD 1999

The best bunch ever. Lovely India, gorgeous Venezuela and brilliant Miss South Africa. Well done Miss World.

MISS WORLD 2000
Congratz on yet another beautiful babe. Well done India. Much better production this year

MISS WORLD 2001

Viva-la Africa! Wow, held in Africa, first black African to win winner. She has the longest name! Something like 20-odd letters. Beautiful. I like Scotland and Aruba has yet to send a better delegate to an international event as they did with Zizi

MISS WORLD 2002

Behind all the contoversy and confusion of this year's Miss World almost seemed hidden and concealed when the world crowned Azra- to date one of the most sweetest, compassionate and lovely Miss World's of all time

I am in Palm Springs and I tell you, things are heating up here as the girls are beginning to "freak out"

They ask: Did they perform their best? Did they do enough? Were they hip enough?

Amelia Vega will be attending the teen pageant as she arrives. Wonder how a teen Miss Universe will feel at a TEEN Pageant.

MISS TEEN USA 2003 will be shown live on NBC tonight at 8pm/7 central. For residents outside the US, catch it happening on TeleAruba- LIVE on www.telearuba.aw ** Live stream via satellite to the tiny island requires Real Player.

Can't wait!

HERE ARE THE RESULTS OF MR WORLD 2003

Winner - Mr Brazil
1st Runner up - Lebanon
2nd Runner up - Belgium
3rd Runner up Mexico
4th Runner up Venezuela

The Top 10 finalists
1. Lebanon
2. Belgium
3. Brazil
4. Mexico
5. Venezuela
6. Singapore
7. China
8. Barbados
9. Aruba
10. Puerto Rico

many of the hot favorites did not place and I am sure they go back and complain to their countries. The show was small and the production was poor. It was held in small tacky theatre that could only house 200 guests.... They made us walk all the way back to the hotel on foot... Nothing compared to the glamour and prestige of Manhunt International 2003 which I went to in Shanghai last year. That was held in the Shanghai Grand Theatre that seated 2,500 guests. Its like the Opera House versus a school prom, I hope Julia and the Miss World Organization should wake up and improve their Mr World show. Only the judges were creditable and glamourous!

I also hear that Mr International 2003 will be held in a week's time at the Millineum Dome not to far away. I think that would a better place and I hope the show will be better better then this.

I recently heard on a news website the the MUO is launching a deal to get the rights to host an international beauty pageant for teens. I present to you:MISS TEEN UNIVERSE

The announcement came as a shocker, but maybe this is just a rumour. The report noted that contestants must be between 15 and under 19 by July in the year they participate. That means they can be 19 when participating, and even 20 when they give up the title.

Great news- but if the idea gains momentum- it'll only premier in 2005. Let's cross fingers

Johannesburg - Yolanda Kloppers, Miss South Africa in 1978 and well-known beauty consultant in Gauteng, has obtained an interim interdict in the Roodepoort magistrate's court that prohibits her husband from assaulting, verbally abusing or threatening her.

Her husband, Dr Walter Ward, is a prominent medical business person in Johannesburg.

Court documents show that Bradford Wood, the well-known Bad Brad of the first Big Brother series on M-Net, apparently played a big role in the confrontation between Kloppers and Ward. Wood has been living in the couple's luxury home in Northcliff for the past three months.

Wood apparently tried everything to "influence" the couple's oldest son and to "challenge" Kloppers' role as mother.

Kloppers left the family home after the latest confrontation because Ward "used force to throw me out of the house" and he told her "to rather go and sleep in the street", Kloppers said in an affidavit.

Tension

This was preceded by a row over Wood and the "tension" he created in the house. During the row, Ward accused Kloppers of having affairs with other men and he called her an alcoholic and a whore and he "totally lost it".

"I also want to say that Dr Ward locked me into the room during the row. I was petrified and couldn't handle the shock", Kloppers said.

She says Ward and Wood became friends in 2001 and Wood moved into their home three months ago, "without paying rent or making a contribution towards household expenses.

Wood "has a bad influence on my two sons, because he intimidates them and Ward doesn't try at all to discuss the situation with Wood." Ward has now refused Kloppers entry into their home and she also isn't allowed to see her children.

The interdict stated that a copy should be forwarded to the Florida police and Ward may not enter the couple's bedroom.

On September 10 Ward may present reasons why the interdict should not become final.

Louis Shapiro of Shapiro and De Meyer in Pretoria is appearing for Kloppers.

Congratulations for coming up with another message board. It's nice to see this because I am starting to get bored with the other message boards which had turned out to be sleazy and tacky! I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be another additional venue in the free discussion of beauty-pageant related news and features. Good and luck and keep it up!

I like this new forum.

I hope the opening blast will be awesome!

SOME SUGGESTIONS:
Let the first ten people that apply for being moderators grab the job!

Allow for some long forums- remember some long forums are better than the simple short ones!

Try to look in the best interests of everyone

Good Luck
