Subject: Du-Myat.

DU-MYAT

In golden days of sunshine
And silver days of rain,
The bush birds of Du-myat
Sing their sweet refrain.
Mopokes croon the moon at night
And kookaburras laugh
At magpies and their foolishness
In early dawn’s soft light.

The bull oaks whisper of the time
When this ancient land
Lay sleeping in the southern sun
Untouched by human hand .
Across the dune, the sea wind sighs
Of how it loves this place
And dreams of when it has the chance
To touch your lovely face.

David Henry. 18-Sep-01.
