Christian beliefs of the New Covenant
Man had to be punish for their own sins cause they dishonor God Sodom and Gosmore/ the flood. God gave Israel the 10 comments but they broke the law because they was in the flesh. Animal sacrifices were made to cover up sins but it didn’t wash them away. God created a new Covenant with Israel a better one.
Jeremiah 31:31- Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the lord: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their HEARTS; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, know the Lord; for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sins no more.....
In this he said a New Covenant making the first OLD. Yes the old covenant sacrifices had value because God said it. The priests goes into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the services of God, But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, with blood in which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: Man’s conscience was always left unsatisfied, since he must return repeatedly, and he never know what happen in the close door of the chambers, he could never feel he had been completely and permanently cleaned. These sacrifices could not take away sins they made a provisional atonement, a temporary covering for sins. God sacrifice expiated all those past sins. Look at it like a Check. The check itself is practically worthless. Yet it is used and accepted in the place of money, since it is backed by what has been deposit in the bank. God death was the deposited for the backed the old testament sacrifices. Christ being came an high priest of Good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood entered in ONCE into the holy place, and obtained eternal redemption for us. The Son of God did not enter the place made with hands (the figure of the truth) but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.
It said, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more”. There is no more offering for sins because God came in sinful flesh and sacrifice himself. God is Just, holy, and pure and is totally against sin. Look what he did Sodom and Gomorrah, Look how he flooded the world. He destroyed them, they had to pay for there own sins. We would have been destroyed also, Instead being merciful of his creation he sent his Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to condemn sins in the flesh so we can be perfect through his Spirit he is the final sacrifice for the World. This is the New Testament, This is the New Covenant (the Word is in us making us perfect). This is the Gospel (meaning Good News) God spared us by sending his only begotten Son. Our conscience can be clear now. We don’t have to keep going back and forward sacrificing bulls and goats, and the ashes of an heifer anymore, cause our sins are paid in full. The law can be full-fill in us now because he is in us and make us perfect. No animal blood that is in this world can make us perfect or is pure enough to wash our sins away are be traded for our sins. SOME Jews believe if they believe that they won’t be separated from other. Regardless they believe it or not they still will be God’s Chosen people but they will continue to suffer for their non-belief until he return. If some continue to stay in the Old covenant and believing that the blood of worldly animals will save there soul.
They have to stand before God and say that they offered worldly animal blood for their sins, and that they are made perfect by the blood of a goat. Jesus came and over came the world, he is our high priest and through him we can over come the world. He knows what it is like in this flesh. This is why every sins can be forgiven even if you curse the name of the Son of God. The only sin that can’t be forgiven if you curse the Name of God.
