Need more friends with wings
All the angels I know
Put concrete in my veins

Everything was slowly taking it’s toll on her. This time when Echo entered the lodge she was changed. She looked pale, thin, and weak. And on top of that she was sick with a cold from the modelling session. But she kept telling herself to keep hanging on, she needed the money. She wanted to go back to school, she needed to go back to school. She had decided to take the day off of waitressing, afterall she didn’t want to get everyone sick. Her apartment was empty, silent and barren. Luckily all of this wasn’t affecting her modelling career, make-up could easily re-touch her face for the camera, and the photographers were happy with the weight she had lost. With a quiet grunt to herself Echo dropped down onto the couch, hugging a pillow to her chest while sniffling and glancing around. With a quiet sigh she realized how alone she was. She had no one to spend Christmas with, so she’d volunteered to work at the restaurant that day. Absently she glanced at the various happy people throughout the lodge, for a moment she wished she could be any of them. Suddenly she reminded herself that just because they appeared happy, may not be happy. It could be worse. What happened to her eternal optimism? It surprised her at how easily it had been washed out the door.
