He was a quiet, solitary man - he spent most of his time on the waves and when he wasn't there, he appeared to be in a consistent state of meditation - more than likely thinking about the waves he would soon ride. Completely absorbed in the sport, that was what they told other people when they whispered about him in passing, hushed tones hiding from his own ears. No, he wasn't absorbed in the sport - it wasn't a sport at all, it was a religion more than anything. He didn't surf for the money, the fame, the women.. in fact, didn't partake in much of the spoils of his talent, but rather led a solitary life, coming and going and doing as he pleased. Today, for example, he was just coming in off of the waves, and found himself in the lodge, surprisingly enough - he'd been here for a month or more but had never experienced the social "hotspot" before. He was still steaming through the insulated wetsuit he wore as he made his way in, heading directly to what he assumed was the bathroom to change out of the rubbery gear and into something more comfortable -off season was always a mess, but he didn't mind.

- It was like a chapter right out of the tome of his previous life, or "previous life", as he was still living the same life, just in a different spot, on different waves, and that was perhaps the only reason he was elsewhere - the waves broke differently in the Atlantic than anywhere else. His dark eyes moved up at the sound of her voice and he paused, literally chilled to the bone, but willing to make a stop if the voice belonged to who he suspected it did. "Mariah."
