He sat on the steps leading to the lodge, his large frame easily making those steps inaccessable to those passing by. For now, they were his steps, and neither heaven or hell were going to make him move for someone else. Unless that someone else had legs that went on for miles and filled out their shirt in a most attractive mannor. The cold night air felt good as it played briskly over his skin. It was a cold he wasn't use to. It never got this cold down in Louisiana. But change was good. Very good indeed in his case. Taking the cigarette that hung between his lips, he flicked the butt casually out into the darkness, not caring where it landed or what became of it after that. His dark blue eyes narrowed as he sat there, and a tanned, scarred hand brushed a limp blond lock of hair off his forehead, keeping his vision clear. Always on the offensive, always alert.
