  • Echo nodded silently, though she seemed slightly hurt by the way he had snapped at her. She folded the paper back the way she had found it, and returned it to the littered coffee table. With a forced half smile Echo pushed herself out of the chair and moved into the kitchen, opening the fridge door she grabbed a bottle of water and twisted the cap off. A sip of her water was taken as she lingered in the kitchen, leaning back on the edge of the counter top as she thought to herself about what she was getting into. For a second she thought of returning home like her father had commanded. But no, she wasn’t going back again. She was almost certain of that. She’d just have to learn how to make it on her own.
