Subject: She just shrugged slightly, as if to brush it away and forget about it. “It’s alright.” Her eyes rose to meet his for a second, just to prove that it really was forgotten about. Echo pushed herself up on the counter, letting her feet dangle childishly while her fingers idly busied themselves with her water bottle. “I was rude and you were rude, so we can just call it even.” She suggested, her note lighter with a slight hint of a playful tone- she was making an attempt at lifting the solemn blanket that seemed to have fallen over their conversation. “Besides, I can’t help but admire the way you talked to my step-mother.” She laughed softly- how could she not laugh? The only thing better would have been to be there and see Jackie’s reaction.
