So here I am in a stolen car at a traffic light
They go from red to green, so I just drive into the night


For a girl who really hadn't spent a single moment on her own since the day she was born, it was a tough adjustment to get used to being alone all the time. She was so busy at school that she didn't get much of a chance to socialize and her classes were huge - like most typical first-year ones were - and she still hardly recognized anyone from day-to-day. Even if she didn't know anyone out here, it was just nice to be around to see people coming and going - she really was a social person and it was getting tiring to be so isolated. A worn well-travelled Jansport hanging low on her back - weighed down by textbooks and binders - she made her way quietly the steps to the front porch and settled down on the swing, dropping her bag at her feet. Her idea had been to come out here to get some studying done, but she wasn't really interested in reading just yet, so she just sat on one side of the swaying bench and crossed her denim-clad legs beneath herself. Fingers linking in her lap, she slouched down and rested her head against the back - comfortable in the crisp, clear afternoon in just the thin long-sleeved white tee, soft blonde waves falling loosely around her shoulders...
