Subject: Come on in... I gotta tell you 'bout the state I'm in... I started looking for the warning signs - I started looking for excuses...

The lanky redhead with a pixie cut made her way in lazily - it had been a long day - up early with a visit to the doctors to confirm that everything was in tip top shape and then she'd spent the morning unpacking things in the apartment she shared with Callum. Letting the screen door slam behind her, the girl in cut off corduroy pants and a sheer black tshirt with a busy logo on the front of it, slid the Birks off of her feet and padded barefoot across the hardwood floor toward the kitchen - her aim: cookies. With her treat in hand she made her way to the nearest bay window and settled herself in the window seat with her back against the wall and her toes against the opposing one, the cookies in her lap.
It was a long journey she'd made - when she thought about it - from her home to here - from health to illness to recovery and back again - from coupled with a protective, nurturing significant other, to complete singledom: The last year had been one of many changes, many journeys, and she'd come through all of them unscathed, and eager - eager to begin whatever life this new place, this new health, this newfound freedom carried for her.
