Her attentions ignored, she twisted the cookie she'd offered to the gentleman apart and licked the cream out of there, adding to the stack. She'd been driven out of the apartment by her brother's fussing. He was constantly on her case, an overprotective wolf - since she didn't have Chase to watch over her anymore, Callum had taken it upon himself to be her caretaker extraordinaire. Thing was, she hadn't needed a caretaker, Chase had done that on his own, and she'd never grown accustomed to being 'taken care of' - even when she was sick in a hospital bed, couldn't move, couldn't open her eyes, she'd never wanted help. And now she just couldn't shake it. Topped with that Callum was paranoid about her "catching" cancer again, and so was exceedingly anal about where she went, what she did, who she saw - she was an adult, for crying out loud. She pondered Chase, and the lack of him there in her life, and after some consideration and also some cookies, came to the conclusion that he was not a necessary fixture in her life.
