Startlingly clear water ripples quietly against the pebbled shore, reflecting the sun in a burst of colorful light. High cliffs surround the secluded crescent beach, an area much inhabited by gulls and sea otters, who find the rocky beach an ideal spot to break open shelled sea creatures. Although beautiful, the beach provides little sustinence for the grazer, and a number of steep paths lead up the rocky ledge to a large, wind-blown meadow above. A small stream runs through the area, but is shallow and tends to go dry in summer.
