With all the top flight national recruits that DePaul has either signed, gained a commitment from or at least gotten to visit and and be given strong consideration, I would have to think they have as much chance as anyone else.
One thing I've come to realize after living in the Midwest, is that we have a very provincial way of thinking. We have a tendency to underestimate anything and anyone not in our vicinity. Most people believed there was no way this Leaito guy is going to come into our little clique and get our top players. Consequently DePaul was not really able to snag top level players from the area.
What many of us seem to forget, is that America is a big place. They play b-ball all over. Just because you don't play in the CPL or go to the B10 or C-USA, does not make you any less of a talent. Leaito has gone and gotten supposedly A-1 talent from the East and the West Coast. He has reportedly now even gotten the interest of a big time guy from the South.
Now we may be a bit closed minded here in Chicago and the rest of the Midwest, but I don't think we're stupid. I would hope after a year of seeing this guy bring in blue-chippers from all over, we finally realize Leaito must be the real deal. I would have to think 2005 players and beyond will definitely look at DePaul with renewed interest.
Game does indeed recognize game as the great philosopher Snoop Dog and many of the other great thinkers have told us time and time again.
