Hi Everyone,

My daughter asked me to Thank You all for all your prayers
and well wishes.
She hasn't gotten the results back from the liver biopsy yet.
She has found out that she has what they call type 1B Hepatis C
and there is no cancer but she don't know about scorisis(spelling)
yet. This form of Hepatis is very hard to treat it is not curable.
She will have to take Shots once a week for 48 weeks plus other
medication. This may or may not control it.

Many of you have written me to see how she is doing and if
we found out anything I appreciate all of you and thank all of
you for your prayers and well wishes.

(((HUGS)))

Thanks for keeping us posted, Ma. You know we care!

Remind her to take it easy and that type 1B shows a greater response rate than type 1A :) Tell her to drink LOTS of water during the treatment phase. It really helps to flush the drugs out of her system and to keep her strength up.

From one who knows...
also, here is a wonderful link FYI and for anyone else out there. A little reminder that the test for HCV is a simple blood test and the doctors generally don't give you one unless YOU ASK FOR IT!

A person who is at risk for HCV could have a past history of:
Blood transfusions
Intervenious drug use
Direct blood contact with someone who has HCV
*Shared razors, toothbrushes. NOT Drinking Glasses..
Sexual contact with someone who has HCV

This disease can "Sleep" in the body for a very long time,. in some cases 20 years before the effect is felt. Fatigue is the most common symptom. Please educate yourself and ask to be tested, even if you have not had any recent dealings with these things, Something you could have done 20 years ago can come back to kick your butt today.
