Subject: She smirked, shaking her head as she brushed her hair back over her shoulder and leaned forward to trace the initials carved into the big oak desk. "Are you and mom going to get divorced?" She questioned, looking up at him with her head cocked to the side, her blue eyes huge and wide as she posed her innocent question. She just wanted her parents to be ok, her and Austin had spent hours talking about it and she had spent another few hours convincing Austin thar his sickness had not caused the strain in their parents marriage, that they were beyond the age were they should be blaming themselves for things like that.

  • That sort of thing was exactly why he sometimes couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by his strong-minded daughter - she spoke her mind, and he respected that, but sometimes it was a challenge to deal with. Frowning a little, he shifted to perch on the edge of one of the low bookshelves beneath the window that looked out over the club. "No." His wife had been right that the girl could ask some hard-hitting questions - the interrogation had just begun and already she had asked the one question that he had been refusing to ask himself. It made all of their issues seem so much more real - if no one talked about it and he thought that no one noticed, then maybe it wasn't actually happening. Even though he knew that was all just a load of crap. (NT) -- Lucas, 08:00:22 08/31/06 Thu
