NS-10's have a good reputation for monitoring. They should be fine provided that you are careful with the low frequency end. Get into the habit of double checking your work on good quality headphones to see if the low frequency end is too strident.

The NS-10s will certainly give a clear indication of everything above 100Hz but you need something else to check below 100Hz and headphones are a particularly inexpensive option.
