And the contractions were getting closer and closer, making her eyes close repeatedly, panting a little bit as she leaned back into the pillows, the last pain easing away. She slowly loosened the grip she had on his hand, though she kept her eyes closed.

Soon enough the labour was going in full force, with her breathing, and panting and crying, and the doctors encouraging,and counting, and telling her when to push. She never once let go of his hand, and a moment later she cried out sharply, right before the sounds of a baby's cry filled the air. The doctors did their job quickly, and effectively, cleaning him up and making sure he was ok, as another set of nurses took care of Cassie. Soon enough all was settled in a fresh bed, and everything else was in place. "Here he is..." She looked down at him, he had a mess of dark hair. "He's dark...like you..." Kesi was more of a caramel colour, a light coffee tone to her skin - this baby seemed to be darker, at least right now.
