It all started on a dark, winter night. The ice was thick upon the dead earth, frosty, crisp snow covering the hills, laying two feet thick. Dark, inky storm clouds covered the twinkling stars and the elegant moon. Four-legged creatures buried themselves deep within the forest, attempting to shroud their unprotected souls from the raging blizzard, the thick snowflakes that smashed to the ground, disrupting the erie silence....
Ok, so it was actually a gorgeous spring day! The birds were singing, the sun was shining, and new birth was being brought into the world. New souls being created, one of which happens to be the point of all this mayhem I'm writing.
She was a beautiful gray female, of the wonderful genus Equus, more commonly known as horse. If we wish to be even more specific, we could say that she was a rich dappled gray straight egyptian arabian filly, but who needs to know all that rubbish. The point being, she was a beautiful specimen, born in mid-spring, with tapered ears, a rich ebony muzzle, large nares, wide, curious orbs, silken pelt, slender legs, and a spirit as wild as a tornado. Her view of the world was limitless. She saw everything as being an adventure. Fear was not a concept that she would, or could, understand. She was safe in her large natal band. Life was gay and prosperous. She was excited at the littlest things. Everyone knew she would grow up to be a splendid mare, yet little did they know just how much of a lady she could be. But unbeknownst to everyone, she was not fully happy. She would watch as her father and mother nuzzled and kissed, and she was jealous. They had one thing that she wanted. Love. Pure and simple.
"Mère? Mère... I was thinking..." she began simply.
"Yes fille?" her mother replyed.
"Mère, I was thinking, that perhaps I should leave, and go find a herd of my own."
The elder mare embraced her daughter, speaking softly. "I have often thought of this day. I knew it would come. Make the best of your life, young one. Be happy. That is all that I ask."
And so, the blooming beauty left her home to venture into the unknown. Shortly after leaving, she came across a wonderful utopia, this land, which brings us to where she is now. Silently, ever searching for a new home, roaming the valleys, searching for true love.
Editor's Note: I've finally found a way to incorporate school with JBTH. This mare speaks a lot of french terms, hopefully helping me with my french vocab. If you don't want to try and understand my french, don't talk to this mare. I have given you fair warning. Have a nice day! =^.^=
