In reply to: War 's message, "I'm down to my last breath, and with it let me say..." on 22:22:44 03/13/03 Thu

To War and all others out there who still care:
To say that I will stand with you is slightly misleading, for it implies that I have left and am returning. I have stood by Camelot since my arrival almost two years ago. (Aye, I'll be celebrating my two year anniversary in scarcely a week and a half.) And I will continue to do so, doing what I can to support this establishment. However, as War asked in his message, ideas need to come. Any idea, no matter how trivial or "seemingly inadequate," will be greatly appreciated, by me if nobody else. As to that fact, I have a few ideas of my own. You may agree or you may not, I don't care. They are open for discussion. We have tried "revivals" in the past in vain attempts to bring Camelot back to its glory days, days that I came too late to see but I still hear the echoes of times gone by. I still see the pride with which those who were here speak of it. It must have been a glorious site to behold. Now for my idea(s). I think it is obvious that Camelot is barely hanging on with only a few threads of life, weaving through the few people who actually post on the message boards. I also think we have been going about this the wrong way. We shouldn't be having a "revival." Camelot is dead, and nothing short than a profound action from more than just a few members will bring it back. I think what we should be having is a birth. A renaissance. From the ashes of mighty Camelot a new era is brought forth. Instead of resurrecting the past, leave it buried, and resurrect the goals, ideas, ambitions, and dreams that it stood for in something new. We made the mistake before of making "committees" to run everything while the other members stood by, confident that the work was being taken care of. I propose a sort of "new committee" if you will. One that is composed of EVERY person, member or not, who wants to take part in the birth of a new creation, a new guild, an heir to the Camelot legacy. As I said before, some may agree and some may not. Whether you do or don't, don't be afraid to post your ideas. I'm sure as hell going to post any more ideas I may come up with. No matter how insane or radical they may seem.

As to you, War, keep the faith. Always know that at least one person has heard your plea, and at least one person has answered.

Semper Fidelis,
Always Faithful,
Rahl
