In reply to: War 's message, "Please read..." on 22:46:41 01/07/02 Mon

I must say War that your message was well thought out, and I also must say that I see your point. When I first found and joined Camelot, it was just beginning to enter its "decline," so I only got the briefest taste of what it was like in its hayday. My plea to maintain the weekly meetings was apparently an irrational hope that I could keep the people of Camelot from drifting apart. I see now that I alone cannot save Camelot as a whole, but I assure anyone out there that I will not give up easily. Even if I am the last one left, I will remain. You made a reference to our motto Semper Fi short for Semper Fidelis, Latin for "Always Faithful." This is what I am and this is what I will remain. Always Faithful to the principles represented by Camelot. Always Faithful to the beliefs I share with Camelot. And most importantly, Always Faithful to Camelot itself. I more than anyone can understand how life can rush out all at once, and it seems like there is hardly any time to play a game like Diablo or D2, especially as I'm getting ready for college. And I also understand how games may lose interest to some after they've been out a while, especially with other games out increasing in popularity like Ultima and Brood War. Now, I know I'm definately not the oldest member by a long-shot. And I also know that I am not THE youngest, but I am one of the youngest, and that is sad considering I will be celebrating my 1 year anniversary shortly. I have heard the rumors and stories told of Camelot, when there would be 100 or more people joining every day, and you had to have 2 channels for the meetings. And, War, as for those people who only glance at this and not care, we don't need em. Who needs the kind of perverse hypocrit who says they uphold the motto of "Always Faithful," when they themselves are upholding their own motto of "Faithful When I Have the Time."

There can be, what? 6? KoRT, but as of now there is only 1. Now, I don't know if it is just extremely difficult to become a KoRT once you reach High Knight or if the existing High Knights are all part of the group who uphold their own motto, but I do know that an entire guild is a difficult thing for Dukacz to maintain by himself.

But your right, there is no real leadership in the guild anymore. And nobody wants to listen to anyone else. Maybe it's a blessing that Camelot is dwindling in size. It'll give the ones left a chance to reorganize and maybe improve the way things go.

And although I may not like hearing the truth sometimes, I appreciate those who come out and say the truth. "Finding the problem is the first step in fixing it."

When I first got here, War, I thought you were a real "bad apple" as the saying goes. But over the months, I've come to realize that you seem to hold the same beliefs about Camelot that I do, you just have your own unique way of saying it, and I salute you for that. No matter how "old" you feel, the new kid's here to help. (yeah, yeah, I know it's corny, but it's the truth ;) Well, that's about all I have to say. If this doesn't work, I'll just have to write another message. And if that doesn't work....then I pity those of you who can't see the goodness of Camelot for what it is. I see it. It's my home away from home. When I first got here, I thought it was just going to be entirely centered around the game, but I found out quickly that I was wrong; it's not centered around the game, it's centered around friendship, and pals that you can come over and talk to whenever. The game is just that..A GAME. Nothing really important. The game is not the reason I'm staying. There was a lot of discussion a while ago about supporting other games like Starcraft and Brood War, and people argued for weeks on end, but as War said, nothing got done. I was even one of the ones who argued against it, fearing that it would pull the guild thinner. Hindsight being 20/20, that happened anyway, even without the games. And as I look back I realize that my values have changed considerably over the past year, all because of this guild. OK enough of my ramblings. Do what you will, Say what you will, I'll always be here, and I'll always be listening.

Semper Fidelis
Always Faithful
