Although it is hard to tell pom pup colors because they change so much from birth, you can tell(most of the time)the color they will be by 6-8 weeks of age. Black and black and tan can be ditinguished very early. Beaver and blue merle paterns are present at birth. White and cream can be hard to tell when pups are younge-look for any blondish or appricot colors present on the coat. Whites always have black nose/eye rings/lips but creams sometimes have brown. Red sable and orange sable can be hard to tell apart even when the puppies are older-just look very closly at the color under sabling. Cream sables are reletivly easy to spot. Wolf sable is difficult to tell-i recomend getting a breeder to look at a pup that you suspect to be wolf sable. Chaclate and choclate sable are also easy to spot-they're brown or brown with black over it. Blue looks black, but has a silverish tint or is kind of muted(blue is hard to describe.) Parties are white with any color spots. Blue and tan is blue with brownish chest and eyebrows.(black & tan has similar markings. hope it helps.
