Greater Miss Carolina Sweetheart Pageant

I am still working on plans for the 2004 GMCS Pageant and this is just a reminder that applications will be available after October 1st. The reason our applications go out so early is to give those contestants who wish to raise money for our cause and/or run for the Majestic title, plenty of time to do so.
The pageant is tentatively scheduled for January 10 at Bladenboro Middle School. If you or someone you know is interested in competing this year, please send me their mailing address or better yet--their email address and I will send them an application. (If you haven't already) I am compiling a mailing list now and appreciate your help in making this years pageant as big of a success as it was last year.
If you have never competed in the GMCS Pageant before, I strongly encourage you to give us a try. We are a benefit pageant for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life in Bladen County; however, you do not have to be from Bladen County to compete. We are not affiliated with any other pageant or system. We are a community service/benefit pageant.
Our pageant has gotten the reputation of being "more than just another beauty pageant, but a pageant with a purpose". Our queens actually work for this cause, make appearances, and become like family. We seek contestants who have a desire to give back to the community and who will go out and represent their titles to the fullest. Afterall, your reigning year is what YOU make it.
We all know people who have been touched by cancer and it is our goal to join in the fight to find a cure. All GMCS queens are required to attend and participate in the Bladen County Relay For Life as well as participate in team fundraisers. We take this cause and our efforts seriously. Just this past year, our team raised $9,273.99!!!! We were awarded a Gold All-Star Team Award from the American Cancer Society. We have also received many other awards such as Cancer Smart Team Award, Highest Per Capita Increase, Best Decorated Camp Site-2nd Place, Great Road to Recovery Car Show winner, and more!
There are lots of prizes, including beautiful crowns to be awarded. The pageant is open to all ages---babies to adults. Our queens have a fun-filled year with parades, parties, etc. If you would like more information or an application, please email me back or call me at 910-669-3204.
